Aside from the apprehension of bus lane violators, you can see an alleged colorum van that was subjected to technical impounding by SAICT-DOTr - a violation that carries a P200,000 penalty.

Sorry to burst your bubble but authorities are only serious about bus lane violation. Every other violation not filmed by the cameras of the public are negotiable so this doesn't really solve the problem of disciplining people violating traffic laws.

If it helps speed up the traffic benefiting more people especially those people on the buses then it's far more effective than not having the bus lane, it only shows that we need more operatives to enforce the law. And also goes to show how poorly disciplined majority of the drivers are on the road, causing more traffic build up elsewhere.

Nakakatawa talaga batas sa pilipinas. "The penalty for driving without license, as well as the other equivalent acts and violations, is a hefty LTO penalty amounting to P3,000.00" 3k lang violation ng driving without license. Eh yung karamihan naman ng mahuhuli dyan mga mayayaman na naka kotse na kumikita ng 50k up. Barya lang yung 3k na yan para sa kanila

I do hope that there will be a massive operation not only in Metro Manila but also in nearby areas such as Cavite and other provinces for all kinds of violations. There should also be a daily reporting of actual payments collected for these violations. It would have been great for people to see how much money were collected on a daily basis and where the funds will be used for transparency. I wonder how many projects it can accomplished for the benifit of the public.

Dont you worry they wont tire of this as this is the only bright spot they have. What about other violations? Swerving, coding , speeding and most specially illegal parking? These are all negotiable. This is all a farce and is an excellent example of selective justice.

Not necessarily against Colorum. They should be licensed and it shouldn’t be hard to get one. It’s like a shared Grab if done right.

First offense for Busway violation should be PHP 100,000, and be increased by PHP 100,000. License should also be suspended.

I would highly suggest MMDA putting spike strips immediately during apprehension, sa ganung paraan hindi agag-agad makakatakas. Pag sinabing tigi, tigit talaga muna at pag umabante pa butas gulong. After ipakita ang license kunin din agad ang spike strips.

how is Col. Nebrija? I know he was suspended temporarily for an incident a few months back (with a senator if i recall right?) but that was temporary right? for that first SUV, I could already imagine Col brisk walking with closed fists and maybe his loud speaker in hand, with his signature hat... "Tumabi ka!" all but the most arrogant violators seems to humble up when he approaches.

He's permanently assigned to the academy. So you won't see him on enforcement for the foreseeable future. Sayang, but less headaches at least 😅 Anyway he fits the new role very well. He already had experience in teaching, from his days in the Navy. Aside from teaching mmda enforcers, they also have training, seminars etc for LGUs and others.

P200k for a violation? That's still low. They should increase that to 500k pesos. They should actually increase every penalty for violating the laws in the Philippines. Why? Because people who will react negatively to increasing the penalties are the ones who are willing to commit the said violations. Also, if you are not planning to commit any law violations, why be afraid of the penalty?

I wish there is shorter route going to Carousel bus station in Ortigas where MMDA usually operates. (Like a overpass that link directly to station like the one in Buendia and Roxas Blvd station) imagine the long walk and flight of stairs when coming from megamall. OLD people and PWD suffers from it. the carousel bus is convenience but the way people need to cross is a pain in the ass. If you think the fatigue from working on site is enough, well let's add a little more by climbing the MRT Ortigas station and going down on it. I don't know where to complain but I hope this message can get through to the proper officials.

@gadget addict I understand your advocacy in the edsa bus carousel, it is indeed a good way to travel, it can carry more passenger over a passenger car, however you have to take into consideration that start and end point goes beyond within EDSA, the hassle and number of times you need to commute to and from the EDSA bus route all adds up, cost, time and effort, I am sure people will choose edsa bus if they are going within edsa given the cost of fuel as well. If only there are better mass transit more people would definitely prefer to commute this way.

They're meant to leave the bus lane at the next opening. If they continue inside the bus lane it's possible that they could be apprehended again. The ticket acts as a temporary operators permit.

If your driver's license is confiscated, you will be given a traffic citation ticket, specifying the exact violation you committed. It will also serve as a temporary drivers license, usually for 1 week. Enough time for you to redeem your driver's license .

It seems like she could possibly have bigger problems than just taking a ticket on the spot. Because both the AFP and PNP said they're investigating the incident, with potential legal ramifications. And of course SAICT already said they would have LTO issue a show-cause order.

Are MMDAs (in blue) deputized to apprehend? saw a car was flagged down around 6 - 7PM southbound under the bgc-buendia flyover. This is the part where Edsa is split into two between rockwell Estrella exit and buendia. My only concern is that if they are not, then they cannot issue anything to the violator. Might want to check this out. Thanks!
