Pa.Ranjith’s movies never failed to record the voice of the oppressed people, their anger and also the need of a society with zero inequalities. Though his films had certain ideologies, including that of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, he never made it with a preachy tone. That's where you can see him succeed, both as a film maker and a man with a plan. He wants a change in the society. At the same time, he knows how to use the liberty that the cinematic medium provides him, to achieve his goal. Let it be Madras or Kaala, he always stressed on the importance of education, which he strongly believes to be a key factor for the betterment of our society

Yes, Kabali is one of my favourite movies as can relate to livelihood in Malaysia. He definitely had done good homework on the characters depicting Malaysians here from accent, attire, sentiments and more. Genius Ranjith.

Very interesting interview. Pa Ranjit beautifully explained the difference between himself & Mari Selvaraj, not unlike the life history of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr in the Struggle for Equality in American History. Ranji & Malcom are revolutionaries; they don't want any Sympathy and they want to level the "playing field" according to their own design & plan. Very powerful approach! Yes, Mari Selvaraj just portrayed the life of Dalits in their village; but the Last Dialogue "Neenga Neenga la irrukura varaikum, Nankal (dalits) Nankalaathan Irupom, Nothing will change" is very powerful, nonetheless NOT a Practical Solution. Because the Middle Castes always want to enjoy the humiliation of the Dalits. So, propagation of the IDEA of Secular Humanism along with Economic Progress through Quality Public Education can only achieve this in a short time..... like 30 years! Wait & watch!!!

@@inthujankulasingam5135 blacks (afro Americans) - discrimination obvious just by sight (colour) Dalit - not by colour, by profession pre independence (say perhaps before 1920's, when first time community based census was conducted by British) Afro ame- put to very hard manual labours Dalits - comparetively not so hard AA - bonded labours from day 1, landed in American soil D - were not bonded labours, mostly, there were cases, they were bonded to their profession, unlike afro Americans who were, bonded to inhuman so called master. AA - access to food was ok, as they were put to hard work, so.maintaining their nourishment was required D - access to certain type of food was restricted AA - access to Kith and kin, obsolete zero. No access, to their own child, even new born, there are cases, where the baby used to see mother's face only during feeding, atrocity to the core, vela'kara thevidiya pasanga D - no restrictions to mingle among Kith and kin AA - jeans was the outcome of slavery, to work in mines D - were provided limited clothes, access to certain type of material restricted, in few states, women were not allowed to conceal their breasts. AA - strong as a horse, due to their DNA and work nature D - in varied size, but limited to moderate height and weight, again due to DNA and work nature There are many more But one important thing AA - they did saved each others back, died for another black. Stood as a community/race D - thooo manam keta nainga...urupada matanunga. Yevanavuthum urupata, Kala vari uduvanunga, otrumai atra paradesi dogs.

Atha Pana Vidama, inoru dalit thadupan, illa muneri vara'an paru, avane Kala vari viduven. Basically I am saying there is no collective and collative improvement. Of you observe upper caste, they stand for each other, help each other financially and psychologically, also if one is successful, they appreciate him. And the successful person helps others. Nothing of these sort found in dalits, mostly

Unity? Among dalits it's only unit, it's one for oneself and only for self. Not like one for all and all for one. Most of them are narcissistic in nature. Either ploy against a peer dalit with the help of another dalit, or become a slave of an upper caste fella to kick the ass of another dalit. Neither I am saying that dalits shud be one cuccoon and fight, nope, there is no bear minimum empathy which is expected out of the humans. If interested read : dollar desam book. By kumudham author, he has tried to trace through the blacks history in America. How they suffered, but still stood as one to fight the discrimination. Angayum, karupu aadu irunthathu, but romba kammi. I see their freedom fight as a true fight. But than as of now, they are misusing their hard earned ryt. Like how we mis use our Constitution provided reservation in education and jobs...
