It's cause he's kinda hard to master cause you need to learn a bunch of setups and item movement patterns to make it in competitive. That and a lot of us just don't take the game seriously enough to be good in competitive, we just like having fun.

I mained Pac in the short time I played Sm4sh. While my actual skill never approached this, throwing things at the opponent has never worked so well.

Throwing the items? That part is kinda important ha-ha! It's hard to throw out stuff sometimes when u cant get da fruit you want.

+Bob McMullan terrible grab game and moves that don't damage enough hurt him. plus if an opponent is item savvy then they can usually shut down a large part of his game. also he has a hard time with heavy hitting rush down characters. I play him a lot and I think he needs a small buff to really help the character succeed further. plus a reliable kill option before 130% would really help

How is PAC-MAN low tier? As a PAC-MAIN, I think he should be on the higher side of A tier. He has endless uses for the hydrant and launching it in certain ways that adds pressure. The fruits' properties, when the PAC-MAIN knows them, can be VERY effective against his opponents, especially if the opponent never bothered to know how PAC-MAN works. He's good at making his opponents feel scared, and end up shielding, and PAC's grab is alright for punishing players who like to shield. Fundamentally, he's OK, his recovery options cover a lot of distance but they're quite punishable.

+gamecubeguy214 Compared to how good the top and high tier characters tools and frame data are, pac man just isn't as viable. While someone can be good with him, it doesn't make him high tier.
