Pace Bus has launched its inaugural electric bus on January 19, 2024. The bus runs on 381 95th Street between Moraine Valley College and 95th/Dan Ryan Red Line station (Chicago Transit Authority) on weekdays from 3:10p to 7:00p. The agency is currently using a 2022 Gillig EV40. Surprisingly the bus does not offer a lot of modern amenities such as electric charging stations, but nonetheless it's quite worth the ride as there was literally not much interesting content with regards to this bus.
Pace Bus is currently installing electric charging infrastructure on the Waukegan Division, which is set to be completed in 2026.
