PACERS vs CELTICS | Defensive Showdown in Boston | Game 1

5 жыл бұрынThe Celtics held the Pacers to 29 second half points en route to an 84-74 victory as they take a 1-0 lead in this best-of-7 series. Kyrie Irving paved the way for the Celtics with 20 points (6-17 FG), 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals, while Marcus Morris added 20 points (5-12 FG) of his own, along with 7 rebounds in the victory. Cory Joseph led the Pacers with a team-high 14 points (5-9 FG), while Bojan Bogdanovic recorded 12 points (4-11 FG) and 2 rebounds in the losing effort. Game 2 will take place on Wednesday, April 17th at 7:00 p.m. ET on TNT.

Pacers basically have no shooting, especially three point shooting other than Bojan, and they have no defense guard, Oladipo fixes both problem but he is not here, Evans is capable of both but he is a crapper we know that, it's just sad.

I wouldn't say they're back yet. Morris played well, which was the difference. Boston was abysmal from the field, Indiana was a bit worse. Awful shooting night for both teams.

Cem Vardar matchups, teams that play well in the regular season don’t always succeed when it matters, the Raptors never over come adversity. The Celtics are a up and down team all year but the playoffs come around and players like Kyrie Irving take over when games actually matter. There is no team in the East that will beat them in 7 games.

Celtics fan here, wouldn’t say they’re completely clicking on all cylinders (obvious from the shooting%), and i can’t say we’re out of the east until i see how Philly and Toronto responds, but if they drop game 2 i feel confident we’re coming out of the east. Celtics 2-2 in regular season against the Bucks, and even though the Bucks are a stable, quality team i cant say their peak is higher than ours, even w/o Smart. Just hope we can muster up the peak performances 4 times in 7 games...

With 3 and a half minutes to go the Pacers went on a 12-0 run to finish the game. I know they couldn't really come back but a couple of those plays would've been nice.

Which also means that in the second half (not counting the 12-0 run where the Celtics kind of didn't care anymore) the Celtics outscored the Pacers 46-17. Crazy. Good game though. I think these 2 matchup well enough to keep it interesting.

@@razkable The bucks/celtics is a toss up. Celtics won last year and the teams are pretty much the same. The bucks got a better coach and a couple shooters and the celtics got kyrie and hayward who has improved every month since the season started. It will be a tough matchup for both teams. The bucks have home court this year, but I don't think it will matter quite as much as last year now that both teams are more experienced and have more veteran players than last year. Strangely enough Marcus Smart returned from injury in game 5 last year and is slated to return around when game 5 theoretically would be this year.
