I agree that we should have had a lot more things from them. But i also think it's kinda beautiful the way they happened, like, they were a surprise even to the writers. It's almost poetic if you think about it. I would have given them more scenes and moments but i don't think i would change the way they were written, cause in the big picture...i think it worked.

Thank God Kate and Josh dated and the real life chemistry remained. I think we wouldn't have had Pacey and Joey if it wasn't for that. All the real life intimacy went to their scenes. So much, that sometimes it doesn't even look like they're acting lol. We're blessed the writers realized that.

yeah :’( i think while drunk joey always gets really affectionate and cheery and fun, what’s interesting is that with pacey he’s pretty much the opposite; he gets melancholic and somber when he’s drunk ☹️ and that line is def very heartbreaking

Pacey saw and treated Joey like an equal. He encouraged her, knew how smart she was, listened to her opinions, respected her, and was a good friend. Not only that he knew about her quirks and noticed the finest things about her; he always paid attention. He knew the earrings at prom wasn’t her style but her mother’s bracelet (which he knew it was) was her style; simple, elegant, and beautiful. Like, this is some serious boyfriend or husband material. Am I saying he is perfect? No, absolutely not but this is the type of person/relationship that people want. Someone you can truly be yourself around and feel appreciated. Pacey never in his life felt valued but Joey always did even before she developed feelings. Oh and he made Joey feel like a WOMAN. Listen, I’m in my 30s and I remember the time when I dated someone at 19 (he was 19 too) that awakened my womanhood. I felt desired, sexy, wanted, and confident. Now, I’ve always been confident but this type of confidence was different lol! One shouldn’t feel the need to have a romantic relationship to validate their existence but if you’re truly looking for someone, get you someone that you can have good days AND bad days with. Emphasis on the bad days. Someone you will choose over and over again despite the hardships. Someone that wouldn’t hurt you other than passing away. Someone that will have your back Someone that will call you out on your shit with love. Someone that will always desire you. Someone that is team you until their or your last breath. Someone that will teach you or enlighten you. Someone that hears and LISTENS to you Someone that is truly in love with YOU. And you feel exactly the same for them.

I’m still laughing at the fact that Dawson admits here that he appreciates Pacey for doing what he asked by being a comfort for Joey after he broke up with her for basically not being the girl he imagined and still they wrote him to be surprised they fell in love. I used to be a dawson/joey kinda person, mainly because I liked my bsf at the time and wanted things to work out like that or something i dont know, but looking back pacey was honestly so much of better fit for joey, and dawson didn't stop whining and crying about joey having interactions with other guys.

I love how pacey took the glib and the rants and turned that ability into something beautiful. Instead of using that to against school and those who he loved to torture, he used it for those he loved and the things he was passionate about. I loved pacey in season one, but I loved him more later on.

You do it so much and for so long that I recognize your username. 🙄 Look, I know it sucks for you to see how much Joey loves Pacey. So "what had happened waaaas" I was dating this girl in college (first love actually) AND she had me start watching this and...I... ended up really liking it! So much so I'm here all these years later RANDOMLY because I was looking for ideas for a character and remembered the love story of Joey and Pacy. One the best tv romances I've seen. And the show was suppose to have her and Dawson shipped BUTthe chemistry between Joey and Pacy was undeniable.

Ugh, that sucked so badly! I feel like teenage girls across America collectively shouted Awww!! 🥰🥰🥰 when they kissed and then Awww!! 😫😫😫 when it immediately went off for a month. 😂 I recorded every episode, so I must have rewatched that scene a hundred times before the next episode aired. I even put it in slow-motion because I wanted to confirm she was kissing him back in those three seconds before it went off. 😂

I've been doing a Fringe rewatch - and this always ALWAYS makes me want to do a Dawson rewatch - I always imagine Pacey Witter is Peter Bishop as a teenager. :)
