The spring was finally reaching the northern California mountains. I saw Penstemon, Castilleja (paintbrush), Ceanothus, and many other native flowers in your video. Here in the San Diego County chaparral, spring starts as early as November. It's early February and my native plant garden has blooming Manzanita, Ceanothus, Solanum (nightshade), Diplacus (monkeyflower), and the wildflowers are growing up fast now.

Chester loves the PCT hikers. I met a trail angel group who were doing a big hiker trash BBQ lunch at a trailhead parking lot outside of Lassen. Nicest most generous people.

This was such a perfect video. I teared up when you were talking about the lovely family that took y’all in….the devastation of that burn area…..the oh so wonderful trail magic….and oh my gosh….those sunset views at the end and the perfect music. I KNOW this was so hard cranking out 30+ miles days..I Know It….but you just make it looks so effortless. You, my dear, are amazing!

As a child my family had family reunions in Lasson... it was gorgeous country.... and it will be again. Our fire seasons are horrific. But Shasta has 107.2 " in snow so far this year... that'll help recovery. Stay safe.

Wow, so glad the trail angels found you! I’m sure they were heaven sent🙏❤️🙏❤️ I camped at Domingo Springs campground in the summer of 1992, as we hiked through Mt. Lassen National Park. The part of Assen the pct goes through is not the most beautiful part of lassen. The most beautiful part is along hwy 89 where you drive up to the mountain itself. It’s gorgeous. That part of lassen is not that spectacular. I agree with you on having a good sleep pad. You are crushing it on the trail. Thanks for posting.
