Car Setup Tips Pacific Drive
Face the supernatural dangers of the Olympic Exclusion Zone with a car as your only lifeline in this driving survival adventure! Scavenge resources, load up your trusty station wagon and drive like hell to make it through alive.
This video covers everything about the all-around car setup I use in Pacific Drive. I discuss panels, doors, bumpers, lim-shields, tires, and how I build my all-around setup. Please note that English is not my first language, but I've done my best to communicate effectively. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to leave them below.
I forgot to mention in a video that I have one expanded fuel tank and one leak-resistant battery in the back seats.

I've played this game for 40 hours and i still learned a little bit from your video. One thing I'd recommend is keep a couple puncture proof tires in your car storage to replace popped tires. Tires pop so often in this game it gets annoying.

I always carry at least 2 tires in the back trunk. :)

The lightning rod is a good thing to have, it doesn't just help charge your battery, it also absorbs all electrical damage from some anomalies.

I was rarely using it, so I didn't know about this, thanks for adding this here :)

@@UGC_MateM8 I think there are some exceptions like spark towers and the big zap that comes from the wriggling wreck. But minutemen, shocked tourists, and I think sizzling mists will damage only the lightning rod if it's equipped. It actually changed the way I deal with wriggling wrecks, because now I can just cruise right by them without any issues, getting far enough away to avoid the big shock and picking up some charge along the way.

@@TheToasterPope That's very nice to know, thanks again. I was using jump jacks to jump over wriggling wrecks, and I was avoiding everything else like always. I stopped playing Pacific Drive since Once Human came out, I'm waiting for some major updates in Pacific Drive like map expansion or something more, because I don't have anything to do in that game any more :)

Thank you for the tips! A nice idea for a walk through would be a tutorial one, where you show and explain your preferences in the fabricator station and how you develop your car setup in the different stages of the game. One thing is to decide how to build your car when you have everything unlocked and a very different matter is how to progress along the game, selecting upgrades and searching for resources. Obviously everyone has their own opinion and there are different play-styles but given your experience I'm sure this would be a very valuable full tips walk-through.

Yeah, I didn't think of it like that when I was making this video, but if I want to do this I need to start a new playthrough, and I'm trying to avoid that lol. I'm currently making something else: a full 7 stops run, visiting all 6 biomes and all 3 zones talking about my car setup and the route. It's going to be a run with tips along the way.

If you are afraid of losing your savegames in Windows they are in C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\PenDriverPro, you can make a backup from there. Whatever you choose, thankyou for all the tips. ;-)

My setup on tires: puncture proof in the front, offroad in the back. The front tires are mostly just to point the car where you want to go, so their traction ratings don't matter too much. Flats are common, so it's great to cut their occurrence in half. The rear tires are where your power goes when accelerating, so their grip is a lot more important. I've found that the offroads have good enough grip on the road while of course giving you the best offroading ability. All terrain would be slightly better on the road, but it's diminishing returns by that point.

Yeah, mixing front and back is also good, I just got used to having all 4 all-terrain or all 4 off-road, because I'm using Lim-chipped so I don't care too much about combining them, because I always have enough power to climb almost everywhere I want. I use the off-roads mostly in The Mires, everywhere else I usually use all-terrain, sometimes combining them with puncture-proof depending on route conditions. 🙂

I was thinking to maybe start the new playthrough, just I've gotten used to having all unlocked. When I think I must start all over, it's repelling lol. But runs I could do more, and I'll do a few more probably.

Since parts give their resistances to nearby parts I placed use acid doors to give side panels, roof tech and backseat tech a bit of acid resist... might help if my door is opened by a quirk *shrug* just in case thought. I use armoured front panels for impact resist and olyp hood since only had enough to craft one. Front radiation bumper cause I haven't scanned an anomaly for the armoured one yet also slightly health than the steel so best I got. Back panels are armoured incase my car gets flipped or rolls over some impact resistance all round the car helps. I use ion shield for anti rad so I don't use lead anymore. I place my resource ion shield in my roof storage and swap radar for ion shield when needed. My reason for acid resist is, even though is easy to avoid, the belching barnacle volcano like thing that spits acid in large AoE. It's not very accurate and even when it doesn't land on your car leaving a acid bomb just near you, having some resistance helps if you can't move out of the way in time. Also what milage do you replace your parts at? I notice parts have problems, fuel leaks, holes in cargo and other debuffs bit more frequently past 80 miles. In my experience, tires and engines seem to last longer. Milage definitely has role to play in the longevity of your parts, but not exactly sure to what extent as can only speculate without proven information from the devs or an info section in the game for it.

Yeah, you are doing fine. I don't know how much time passes before statuses start to appear, you will get "worn" status if you use one part too long, but that's still ok. If you get statuses like "unreliable" or "fragile" change those parts immediately.

Didn’t know about powered bumper having so much explosion resistance, I imagine that transfers extra explosive resistance to the boner and two side panels so that’s pretty damn good. But I loose unlimited crash protection hrmm I’ll have to try it out thanks nice video. I already platinumed but going back for a second play through
@UGC_MateM8

Yeah, I'm always using that one, because you usually hit your car from the front, and this bumper is the best one for that 🙂 I passed the story twice, and unlocked everything a long time ago, when I finish these episodes I'm doing now, I'm thinking about the next game, just don't know which one yet.

Usually tank is always there because I'm using Lim-chipped, I change the battery if I don't use roof floodlights, and then I add something else, depending on what I need.

how do you install flood lights
@UGC_MateM8
@UGC_MateM8 25 күн бұрын
You need to unlock them first on the fabrication station and then craft them on the workbench and then you can install them on the side rack of the car considering that you unlocked all necessary upgrades before. And they go on the ability panel so you need to sacrifice one slot there if you want to use them. I rarely used them just to see how they work, but there are better upgrades to add on the ability panel instead of that one. But if you want to use them, this is how you do it. They also use a lot of battery power.

This game is amazing but the biggest issue is you unlock so much of the cool stuff way after theres nothing left to actually do in the game. My car is similar to yours and only recently, and now theres nothing left to do. The game lacks any reason to explore unfortunately.
