I don’t think the reason the Breacher died so easily to the blast compared to Slattern is due to pure strength. I think it has a lot to due with the environment. If you remember, Slattern was nuked while underwater, and Breacher was nuked on land, out in the wide open desert. There was no water that was being pushed out of the way to block most of the blast for Breacher, unlike Slattern who was surrounded by water, and forced further away from the blast due to the water moving and throwing him backwards. Breacher was hit point blank, close range, out in the open.

Overall while pacific rim the black was a massive upgrade from uprising and a step in the right direction for the franchise I do wish both seasons had more than just 7 episodes. S1 while not perfect did well story wise with 7 episodes which is why I was hoping for s2 to have more and unfortunately it definitely shows s2 wanted to do more but couldn't cram everything into 7 episodes. Because of that here's my take on both seasons. S1-better story S2-better action/more darkness Overall I'll say s1 is better in regards to proper storytelling but s2 is better in animation, maturity and action which does make s2 more watchable and enjoyable. Only thing it was missing was a slowed down more elongated story. But the entire series while not perfect did do the first movie actual justice

When I watched this show, it gave me a lasting impression... Unfortunately my lasting impression was that I felt it killed too many people. I probably would have enjoyed the show better if two characters who died survived. One being a character from the settlement who died, I think they could've given an interesting dynamic to the characters. Meanwhile the mother seemed to just die for no reason, the mother could've continued inner control conflict during the finale, but instead the writers just wanted to kill her off in a heartbreaking way. The only death I can't say I dislike is the death of the S1 human antagonist who sacrificed himself for the mother. WHO DIED ANYWAYS, MAKING MY FAVORITE DEATH VAIN.... VAIN! other than that the show was fine. EDIT: sorry if that seemed like a rant, I just needed to get that out, written down somewhere told to someone so I can stop thinking about it.
