Ive had this Welding Helmet for over two years now, and I LOVE it. I got a lot of Welding Helmet Auto Darkening questions, so I figured Id make a full episode on my Miller Welding Helmet! Ive been Tig Welding for 18 years, so Ive been through many Welding Helmet s in my time, and can definately say this one is my favorite. And even after trying a few Miller Welding Helmet s, this one is my favorite out of even those!
Ill show you how it works, the Miller Welding Helmet Battery Replacement procedure, and how to CLEAN AND MAINTAIN it. (nobody ever talks about Welding Helmet Cleaning, or Welding Helmet Maintenance...)
Ive had some helmets where Ive constantly had to fix, or do all kinds of Welding Helmet Repair, but this Miller Digital Elite is the least Ive ever had to mess with a Welding Helmet.
My channel is all about Tig Welding. But more specifically, Tig Welding Art, and lemme tell ya, when it comes to Tig Welding, I get a special kind of excited when I get to take all the experience Ive had over 18 years with Welding, and get to blast on some Tig Welding Art.
I wanted to make a channel that's all about Tig Welding, but also get into the fun and Art side of making Welding artwork. @8:15 Why not clean the plastic eye ports with isopropyl alcohol or ammonia and a shamy? I'd be kind of concerned with using Pledge just because it holds oils and some solvents that can damage my regular glasses so using it on something that protects my eyes from permanent damage would be a no go for me. I understand that it may work wonders for hockey equipment but when it comes to something I'm sure has anti-static & anti-glare coatings I'd be a little concerned.

Awesome tutorial! Wish I had this types of welding helmet when I first started welding in 1983. I'm a journeyman pipe fitter and structural welder and retired now but still welding and doing side jobs for family and friends. I still have and been using my Huntsman welding hood for over 20 years but bought one of these exact welding helmets today at my local welding store. Thanks for sharing brother!

Great tip for the use of x-mode. There have been times when we are slamming out welds fast on one project, welding near by.

Hi Dusty! Good review and tips! I have a Esab Sentinel a50 It's nice, but I think a Little bit heavy. Works great by the way. Your channel is getting better and better!!! Keep it up! Kind Regards:Robert

Top tip: that can of Pledge is also great for cleaning your bike. Used by Pro Bike Mechanics.

Very nice and candid review! The way it should be. thanks :) You mentioned you used to go for the Optrel. I'd be curious to know which model it was and the reasons you now choose the Elite.

Kinda prefer the finicky rubber on the classic series helmet front lenses, just cause it doesn’t seem to allow any debris inside the sensor area

Is that helmet light enough that you don't need a grind mode button on the outside? Is shade 3 light enough to see ok when the arc stops?

Plexus plastic cleaner spray would be better than using Pledge on the cover lenses.
