As packers we have a vested interest in leaving no trace. We were practicing Leave No Trace principles 50 years ago! If you do it properly, no one should know you were ever there. You never want to leave anything behind, including microtrash and fishing line. Respect every plant you see, so the next person that comes along feels like they're in the wilderness too, even though they may only be a mile away from the small town of Bishop, CA.
Remember, leaving no trace isn't just about keeping the wilderness clean, it's about preserving the magic for everyone who comes after you.
So let's all be responsible stewards of the wild. Let's make sure the next person who hikes this trail, even if they're just a stone's throw from Bishop, CA, feels like they've stumbled into a hidden paradise.
