We would like to share with you how we pack our earring orders, our tips and ideas. Many of you, our subscribers, are handmade earrings makers and sometimes the creations have to travel to their new owners, so we think you might find this information helpful. Some of you are even starting your own small business, and in this case, you totally need to think about packaging.
Our goal, when it comes to packing the earrings, of course is that the package should look good when it arrives to the customer, on the other hand the packaging must also be secure, because some of the earrings travel to the other side of the world!
In the video you will see how we make our custom earring cards and some other packaging materials that we use.
For the earring cards you will need watercolour paper, brush and watercolours. What we absolutely love is the corner punch. There are existing many (also more decorative kinds) with various designs (for corners or even whole edges!).
Other materials that you should prepare if you are about to send some orders are:
Stickers - these are not 100% neccessary, but who does't like stickers! Yay :) And they are also good for building your brand awarness. You can put them on earring cards, boxes, envelopes, everywhere, and you do not need to custom order everything. We ordered these locally, in a local print shop.
Wrapping papers - you can use plain wrapping tissues, but we wanted something in our colours, so we got this custom tissue paper from Noissue. Because they ship worldwide, we can put a link here for you: www.noissue.co/
Boxes - We got these boxes locally, also you can just google packaging boxes and you will sure find many different sizes and types. We like this type because it's the best ecological option we could find.
Envelopes - we are not showing you the envelopes in the video, but we can tell you that we use the envelopes with bubbles inside. It's not very ecological and we are worried about this. But because the earrings often travel very far, we do maximum to protect them. If you have a tip for improvement, tell us in the comments!
Of course, keep in mind that care instructions and invoice should be added in the envelopes too.
