I own the dewalt tuff system 2.0. One day I had the three boxes stacked and strapped in the back of my truck. My tail gate failed and the boxes fell out of my truck going 45 mph. I have at least $5,000 worth of tools batteries in those boxes. They hit the road and to my surprise all three boxes stayed connected to one another as they bounced down the road( that’s right bounced). The only real damage they sustained was the corner of the bottom box, that hit the road first, cracked other than that none of my tools were damaged and everything stayed put. In my opinion those boxes payed for themselves 5 times over in that one accident. I promptly replaced the bottom box (along with fixing my tail gate) and couldn’t be happier. Those boxes also spend every day in the bed of my truck. Living in Oregon where it rains and freezes more than sunshine I can tell you that they are completely water proof. You cannot beat them for the money.

Ive had some cheapo Home Depot lightweight 30 or some odd foot ladder come off my truck driving 70-80 down the highway multiple times. It’s also fallen down at clients more than once while fully extended. Somehow it works flawlessly still.

I have the packout system I just got it on sale at Home Depot. $199 for three pieces and added on top box because it was on sale also. When you open up my boxes though every power tool in there is yellow and black. I have no brand loyalty so I got the best system I can find regardless of the manufacturer. It's a little bit better than the DeWalt system I don't think it's twice as good though. I can't wait for a Milwaukee fanboy to see me open that thing up and start pulling out all DeWalt power tools. I do have an old-school metabo angle grinder which has a Milwaukee wrench for changing wheels. I think that's about the only Milwaukee tool I have. Well I think I might have a screwdriver somewhere in my garage.

I’ve owned 1.0 and 2.0 tough system and the Milwaukee pack out system and I have decided to sell the packout. For me, I can’t stand how awkwardly wide the packout boxes are, the tough system 1.0 are the perfect size. I also can’t stand the gimmicky red, I’ve seen my dads old red snap on stuff aged over the years and I’m just not a fan. Black looks more serious, not like a toy, and every carpenter I see has packout, people will more likely steal that stuff also. I own Milwaukee fuel tools and keep them in my tough system. I got the 1.0 with the 2.0 cart, I got three 1.0 boxes for the price of Milwaukee’s one box. I do however use packouts small parts organizers, as they are far superior. I guess I’m not brand loyal, they are all great, I couldn’t justify 139 for packout when tough system cart is going for 89…that’s a 50 dollar difference and the boxes are made at the same place, same material, but you can remove dewalts handle. At a certain point you gotta question if your being biased to a certain brand because you like the looks of it.

When I purchased my rigid boxes two years ago I compared all three at Depot. Yes the packouts offer the most customization and locking mechanism is awesome. But the cost is crazy when you have 20 packouts vs less than halftone cost for 20 rigid boxes. The biggest factor for not justifying the packouts cost was that other than depth on some of the boxes the rigid’s internal dimensions are larger in length and width. If the prices were closer I would justify the packout. They are all very durable. I wish the packout got rid of the aluminum bars and gained that extra space inside.

I have both systems and for the price, the Ridged is very good and the locking system is simple and strong. The Milwaukee's system is quite a bit nicer but it is not twice as good. If I had to guess I would say maybe 50% better on the Milwaukee.

I have the dewalt toughsystem 2.0. I liked it better because the wheels don’t wobble and it rolls so SO smooth. Extremely tough too, the inside doesn’t scratch surprisingly, but i guess that doesn’t matter. Extremely durable, feel confident dropping it off my balcony and it only getting a few scratches and undamaged tools inside.

I'm a dewalt tool guy, but I'm probably going to buy the Milwaukee system for my tools. The dewalt looks cheap and is seriously lacking in options. The Milwaukee looks great and has a ton of different options. Also, if you are going to store the Dewalt system in a small area, you will have to pull it out every time you want to remove a bin because the locks are on the side.

Nobody talks about how easier the tough system is to access the bottom or middle boxes when paired with the dolly. And honestly dewalt was first to market, and are kinda married to a design, that Milwaukee had years to improve, and design around. Dewalt could have just came out with a different packout type system,( which isn't of the table) but they decided to try and improve on the design that's been around for 10 years.

I find it Hilarious that Packout people are still lying to them selves that the Packout is better. Truth is you bought it because you think it looks cool. The Packout was rushed and not thought out well at all. I still can't for the life of me see why anyone would by a tool box set that you literally have to remove all the boxes just to get 1 tool from the bottom box. Now. I use the DS carrier as well as the garage, van/trailer racking system. So that is never an issue for me. Even the tstak I own I put the drawers on the bottom and never need to be removed. Sure Milwaukee/China finally came out with drawers. And an ignorant wall mount. Who is the world would want to hang their boxes sideways? Again Not thought out. Let's also bring up the 6 areas of connection he mentions for the Milwaukee/China boxes. If you own them you know how those 6 points get caught up in everything. And that price tag? Ridiculous. China is screwing Americans and they eat it up. lol Let's talk about that Milwaukee/China dolly. Made entirely from plastic. Seriously? Let's also mention Milwaukee/China just has their normal boxes. While DeWALT gives option. This guy in the video mentions DeWALT doesn't have much for accessories. DeWALT has far more to offer then anyone. Between the Tough system and Tstak. I can tell you from experience after a while of lugging the tough system, Packout in and out, in and out. Guys are lugging these big boxes around a lot less then when they first bought them. While the Tstak has taken over for me because I can bring in a ton of things in a smaller foot print. While I leave my tough system in the trailer where it lives to store tools and supplies I don't use that often. Each box can slide out for easy access. The comparison between Milwaukee/China and DeWALT boxes is laughable. There is no comparison and there is no debate. People who do the research buy the Tough system. People who buy crap because they think it looks cool buy the Packout. It's that simple. Either you buy the company who does it first or you buy from the company that copies everyone else. Either you are into supporting American companies or you are into supporting Chinese companies. This was an easy choice for me.

The packout came out long after Dewalt made their tough system and their T stack system so Milwaukee had an idea to improve upon, I have had my 1.0 system since 2012 and they are durable as hell with a metal dolly that allows the middle or bottom box to be removed with no issues it is a great option. I will give the packout dues for innovation and that people can 3d print some cool shit but the Dewalt system was very under represented in this comparison unfortunately. Some people don't need the flash and for the price they aren't going to go wrong with Dewalt... I do wish Dewalt would release more of their ideas to north america and for store sales instead of just online. Dewalt and pretty much every other brand will have to severely step it up to match Milwaukee innovation or be left in the dust.

The Red ones are too gimmicky. Just give it time it will reveal. Too many boxes with all of the "neat" little trays and cute boxes inside becomes a hassle. Sure it's organized but it's not efficient. Keep it simple. YMMV and I wish you the best of luck.

The entire reason for purchasing one of these units instead of purchasing Sortimo or Tanos is because of their toughness and IP rating. So that we’re now talking about IP rating which means that you’re going to have the system out in weather and harsh conditions. The multiple points of contact that you were so thrilled with not only take away an option of how to carry the units, but also serve to collect water and snow and if you live in a desert a great place to store sand and dirt. How upset would you be if someone carried their packout into your van and then went just to go retrieve their phone or tablet out of the Packout and dumped Job site debris, sand, dirt and/or water all over the inside of your van? I love that you brought up coolers because both the soft cooler and the hard cooler for the Packout are personal sized, whereas you can get the tough system cooler in the same size as the large box which means in hot climates like the one I live in you not only can carry your own beverages but can also carry hydration for everyone in your crew, it is also bright yellow instead of black so it’s easily identifiable. Let’s talk about where you actually store the boxes. Both have a rolling cart. The packout has a dolly for working on the finals of a project or in an industrial setting. Both have a trolley/carrier (toughsystem has more metal components) Tough system has job boxes for being able to store your tools with your materials. Tough system has DOT for safe vehicle transportation. Tough system has shop storage that allows for easy access to the boxes no matter what orientation they are in. Did you not perform a Google search of what is available in the Toughsystem before filming this video? You are missing one of the most important toughsystem boxes in my opinion, because both systems have an open top box, Toughsystem has one with a handle to make it easy to carry around the job site with materials needed for a specific task that can change throughout the day. In your subscriptions you should maybe add some deck builders out in the Pacific Northwest not just a guy who works in air condition retail environments in and around Philadelphia. Less professional wrestling hysteria and more insightful information.😉

I quit reading after your idiotic debris comments. If you don't have the common sense to clean your tools after use then your opinion is null and void to me. I work with my tools everyday and at least blow off the sawdust from them good griefs. If you got sand on your box then take a few seconds to blow it off before putting it away in your vehicle. If someone dumps sand in my work truck, I am gonna be pissed at their lazyness more so then the design of a storage box.

@@thetruth5210 You are the one that used the example of someone dumping sand inside a vehicle cause a packout box can collect debris in it's feet. That has nothing to do with a general contractor. The contractor only cares about his jobsite, not your work van. If you don't care about your van enough to blow the trash of the lids of your storage boxes before putting them away, then you can't whine about the design.

This guy complains there's only 2 points of contact on the dewalt then complains that the milwaukee is too hard to detach🤡 Also learn some engineering, just because there more points of contacts doesn't mean it's better. Why do you think the webs of W beams are taller than they are thicker? The fact this guy doesn't even have the boxes filled up makes you question if this guy actually uses these things.

If you don't mind the DeWalt tough system 1.0 you can get the ds450 rolling box for $59.00 +tax and free shipping get the same ds130 $29.00 free shipping from home Depot as well or get the ds150 small box with air valve better storage capabilities for same price I paid for extra large . I was able to find the extra large box for $44.00 + tax on amozon free shipping and I forgot to mention they had the crate at $29 also on home Depot website ship to you at least in my area that only available online but I'm not sure if some stores may have some stock available left because of the 2.0 and also a bit of information the extra large box the large box and I think the ds-150 you look at the latches they're screwed in unlike the ds450 those are made in Israel and like Vince said at vcg construction I did the Milwaukee packout is also made in Israel by keter the ds-130 is made in USA with global material so that one doesn't count they also make the ridgid stacking box as well as the husky And I'm sure they make the hart version from Wally's world lol 🤣😆

A few notes for my opinion: 1. The TS-2.0's latches is too hard and onerous for long distance use. Milwaukee did a far better work with it. 2. Comparing Dewalt's system to their previous system, you can certainly see some of the changes they made with clear "inspiration" from the Packout. 3. Dewalt just can't compete the smoothness & versatility of the Packout. 4. Dewalt's system, at the moment, is only a nice alternative for those who do not want to invest in a budget for Packout(and even then I'll would recommend to check the RIDGID system).

7 points of contact is an overkill. 2 is way more then enough. I’ve had my dewalt system for the past year and nothing has come close to being un done. Something that’s not mentioned in this video that dewalt absolutely kills Milwaukee, is when you get it to your car or shop. You can put Milwaukee on top of each other but what happens if you need the bottom box? You have to take everything off. The tough system has an awesome and clean way to put your tool boxes away on a dewalt rack system. If you need a box on the bottom you don’t need to remove ten boxes from the top. You can just pull one box from the bottom. Also keep in mind that theirs allot more storage boxes that dewalt has that aren’t featured in this video.
