Hi Matthew - yes I modified this Porter with a 4 inch longer frame and load lifters. The only bummer about modding a porter is the frame stays are pretty narrowly spaced, so when you put load lifters on, the straps come very close to your head. Optimal world I think I'd want the stays wider. It's not a terribly hard mod to make, just requires you to put webbing channels on the inside of the pack to capture the stays, and then a reinforcement on the outside that also has the tension lock on it for the webbing. Connection to the actual straps near the chest is a gatekeeper. I've made the mod for a couple of folks. It's an improvement but really probably only worth it if you are psyched on the rest of the harness.

@@DanRansom thanks for the detailed response! As a first step I'm going to try attaching load lifter straps to the Y-strap that clips over the top of the bag. If that doesn't work, I'll try your method. Thanks again!
