I have the Ultralight Packtowl in XXL. It is the perfect size for a towel, beach towel, lightweight blanket and even a scarf! also wraps easily around my body to use as a wrap or sarong. It's perfect, so lightweight for it's size and folds up so small it's less to carry than my other pack towels. It just gets better and softens with washing and use. Best size for multiple uses. Love, love, love it!

The Original Packtowl, while it does have a somewhat strange texture, is hands down one of the most useful pieces of gear in any travel bag. The point of the 10x absorbency isn't to prepare you for the Great Flood; it's designed so that you can save volume and weight by being able to go down one or two sizes and still absorb more water than its larger counterparts.

Very helpful review. The "makes a handy scarf" part was the one I was actually most interested in. The Ultralite looks like the most versatile of all of them. Thanks for the research!

I've been using the Packtowl Ultralite at home nearly every day for a couple of months and it drys very quickly indeed. It doesn't really get so wet from drying after a shower to require wringing out. I would say the Packtowl Original would come second followed by the Decathlon.

I like using this type of towel for sheets in hot weather/humid camping and canoe camping. So many advantages over traditional towels for this and who wants to sleep in, or on, a traditional bag in 95 degree weather with humidity on a beach?

Great review! one question I still have unanswerd is: which one of these towels won't absorb smell? because I want a towel for after a workout (I sweat a lot).

Thanks for this comparison and test (measurment) how much water the towel needs to hold after a shower. It seems that 4 times its weight is by far enough to dry yourself. The disadvantage I found from the travel towels is, they stick to your wet skin, so you can't rub yourself. Just have to ajust to another way of drying myself. My towel is:120 x 60cm 85% Polyester 15% Nylon at 137grams. The next time I will just buy the lightest I can find, same size of and have it at hand always. Cheers :-)

Packtowl or Sea to Summit? I am going on a long vacation and thought to buy the sea to summit pocket towel Medium and the tek Towel Large. The Medium for my hands, face and that sort of thing. The Large if there is no towel or clean towel in my hostel.

The one that soaks up the most water is the best one .the point Of it soaking up all that water is to dry you quicker if you want Lighter there is a smaller one these towels dry out between Two and ten minuets depending on weather have used these towels for years and there is no better hence the price but it Is worth it .see before you review something you have to test it It is disappointing to watch someone giving a review on something He knows nothing about.i think what you just said is called judging A book by its cover
