Kirsty The Lars gram paddle is a thing of beauty, i get comments on it every where I go. It is quite common for your hands to be in the water when using a GP as opposed to a euro paddle especially as you say when using a higher angle. Normally the paddle angle is lower and there are a couple of things you can do to help prevent your hands getting cold. Tying on cord to the paddle blades to act as drip rings and/or pausing slightly between strokes to allow the water to run off the blade before you lift in resulting in the water running down onto your hands. I am lucky as I have warm hands and they don’t feel the cold as much as others do so in normal paddling I only wear open palm mitts but I pull the finger parts down over the back of my hands and only have the thumbs in the glove as the water mailny runs down the underside of the blade onto the thumbs. When rolling I wear NRS toaster mitts

I ended up getting a great value home made paddle from Rowland Woolven, thought best to make sure GP suited me before investing too deeply. Anyway, I LOVE it. I will need to carry a spare and wondered what you use and how you secure it? Thanks@@therollingguy4911

If I was hunting rather than sprinting I would be quieter but alas you’re not allowed to hunt seals in Scotland🙂
