@@fun40sxx Nope, there's a steering column cover for manual tilt so you don't need auto-tilt to be able to install these.

No problem - glad to help! I had to purchase 2 nuts and 2 bolts (Bolts Part #: 08146-6122G, Nuts Part #: 08911-10637). I believe the 2014-2016 and some 2017s are pre-wired so there's no additional wiring harness that is needed. The 2018+ make use of a different paddle shifter (since they're integrated as part of the wheel). I'm not too sure what is needed to be able to install the paddle shifters on the 2018+ models though since it's a different steering wheel setup.

James Taylor Do you have the power tilt feature? If not, then the wire may be for that. If you do have the power-tilt/auto-tilt, then the other connector may be hidden in the foam wrapping? I haven't heard of these being half pre-wired. I heard that both connectors are part of the same main wire harness that plugs in somewhere behind the instrument cluster.

I believe only the 2016 models are pre-wired. 2017+ if they didn't come with paddles I think you need a custom wiring job

If you're looking for a full kit, then check out Concept Z Performance (conceptzperformance.com/nissan-infiniti-infiniti-oem-paddle-shifter-upgrade-kit-at-infiniti-q50-sedan-14-17-v37-25549-4gf-kt_p_27487.php). Not sure if that's the right one for your car (depending on whether you have auto-tilt or not). Otherwise, if you're okay with getting the parts yourself, you can always buy the paddle shifters off eBay (or brand new from a place like Z1 Motorsports), get the hardware from a dealer with the part #s in the description, and the column that fits your trim/packages off eBay as well. I pieced the components together and saved quite a bit.

2015 should be pre wired

I purchased the steering column cover from an Infiniti dealership on eBay and the paddle shifters from another seller on eBay. You can also opt to get the necessary hardware from Z1 with the kit, which will cost about the same as what it would at a dealership. Alternatively, you can purchase a used set off eBay. The Q50's use the same paddle shifters that were used in the 370Z and G37.

If you have a black steering column cover with auto-tilt like mine, then the part #'s in the video description should be everything that you need to install them. 👍

I've heard that people have been able to install this column style paddle shifter on the newer Q50/Q60s which had factory steering wheel mounted paddle shifters so you might be able to.

TheMkpep Based on the Q50 forums, it sounds like the Q50a's are pre-wired as well so these steps will work. As always, it's best to verify its pre-wired first before ordering the paddle shifters, hardware, and column ($300-$500).

The 370z and G37 paddles were the same for all years. Mine are from a 2015 Z.

I'd verify that your Q is prewired for them by removing the steering column before ordering the paddle shifters. I just saw someone on the Infiniti Q50/Q60 Facebook group the other day with a 2017 and it wasn't pre-wired, but I know I've seen that some 2017s are. If it's prewired, then this video should show the exact same steps that you'd need to perform to install them. I'd just hate to say "yes you can" in case your Q isn't pre-wired since it would be an expensive mistake.

@@harp6184 I typically use that term to mean that the car has the wire harness already hooked up so that the connector plugs are located somewhere in the steering column. Some of the model years stopped including that harness that connects (I believe) somewhere behind the instrument cluster and includes the connectors in the steering column area.

Jaspreet Lallian As long as it's pre-wired, absolutely. I think the 14s should be pre-wired but my is a 2016, so I'd recommend checking on the forums first to see what years people have found come pre-wired.

I bought mine off eBay from an Infiniti dealer on there, but the part # in the description should be good for any parts site if you have the same options (power auto tilt)

Correct, just the paddle shifters and the steering column cover meant for paddle shifters. I heard that some 2017+ require a wire harness if they arent prewired, but I havent heard of any 2014 - 2016 that were not prewired. If you're prewired, they simply plug right in and work.

Looking at the Infiniti parts site and some photos of the two online, they appear to be identical. I just looked up the 48470-4GF0A and it looks like it's no longer a valid part number on Infiniti's system, so they most likely updated the part number, probably either due to an improvement or after changing suppliers. If you have the auto-tilt functionality, then it looks like the 4GF1A part should work. I'll update the description. Thanks!

Bisterk Ding Pretty sure those are the same as these. As long as they look exactly the same, they should mount up the exact same way. I don't believe there are any of this style that mount differently. My paddle shifters actually came from a 09-16 370Z (can't remember exact year).

Hey man. The 370z, G37, and Q50 all use the same paddle shifters, so a set from any of them should work.

It's probably possible, but the different parts might be expensive. You dont need the power tilt though if you want to install Paddle Shifters. There's a steering column cover for manual tilt equipped vehicles and the rest of the parts should be the same (paddles, nuts, and bolts).

@@CJ_Figy I think it ended up costing me around $300. I bought the steering column cover new off eBay (~$90) and the paddle shifters I bought were used and from a 370z (~$200). The hardware (nuts and bolts), I bought from a local Nissan dealership for around $5. I ended up installing myself, so it was just the cost of the parts that I paid.

I have paddles for sale if you're interested. Can show you the other parts you need too.

I'm not sure there is unless you were to take the steering column cover off unfortunately. You might be able to get a remote inspection camera fed through the spacing under the cover, but I'm not sure if you'd be able to tell if the connectors are there.

Possibly. It all depends on whether your 2017 is prewired or not. If it isn't, then it's still possible, but it's more involved.

Benjamin Elishaiyev I think the G37's have a slightly different housing. There are some videos for G37s on KZfaq too since it's slightly different. Lemme look and see if I can find the part #'s for a G37.

Unfortunately, I think the Q60 has a different steering wheel than the 14-17 Q50, which means it also has different paddle shifters. It looks like it's possible to add the Q60 paddle shifters, though I haven't tried it. Yep they absolutely function in both Drive and Drive (manual shift) modes. You can use them to shift between gears and override the full-automatic Drive shift points. I think they dont include them because it helps push people that want little features like this up to a more expensive trim level

The paddle shifters should work with the Q40 and G37's as well. I'm pretty sure the process is slightly different though. I watched a G37 video prior to installing these and it was different from the Q50. That's partly why I ended up making this video.

Yeah. The paddles on mine are actually from a low mileage totaled 370z and they work perfectly. I've heard that people have used the paddles from G37's too without any problems.

Hmm. Sounds like yours isn't pre-wired then, which is strange since I've heard some 17s are pre-wired.

It's probably prewired, so most likely. Some 2017s didnt come through with the site harness though so you might need to purchase one to be able to install them if that's the case.

No, your vehicle will need to be prewired with the harness, or you may be able to install the harness using something I've heard about on the Facebook Q50/Q60 group, but havent tried myself.

I believe someone on the Facebook Infiniti Q50/Q60 group said there's a wire harness that can be installed to make the car wired for paddle shifters. I seem to remember reading that it plugs into the BCM behind the instrument cluster. If you're on the group, it might be worth searching or asking to see if someone can point you to some more info. Was trying to see how I can ask James Taylor Jr. This question, cause I have the same issue as him. My car isn't pre-wired. Do you know how to wire/ or if he found out how to wire for the paddle shifters. Im currently waiting to get accepted to the Q50/Q60 FB group

I'm sure it's probably possible. I guess it just comes down to how much time you're willing to spend and how good you are with a Dremel. I know personally I'm not skilled enough with a Dremel to have it come out looking great, so I just opted for the OEM cover

@@Nismo9132 honestly I’m going to have it CNC machined out. I don’t think it’s worth the $200 for a complete cover. Is the only reason a new cover is needed because of the slots for the paddle shifters?

@@mhsucio6830 Oh wow, yeah I don't recall it being that expensive when I bought it. I want to say it was under $100 at the time (~5 years ago). I'm pretty sure the only difference was just the slots for the paddle shifters. Everything else was identical as I recall it. Seemed like everything fit together the same way too.

I think the 2018s have a different steering wheel setup than the 14-17s, so I don't believe these paddle shifters or this specific install will work for the 2018s. It does appear as though the paddle shifters can be added in afterwards on the 17 Q60s though, which use the same wheel as the 2018 Q50. Z1 Motorsports sells the paddle shifters here: www.z1motorsports.com/steering-wheel-and-airbag/infiniti/oem-q60-coupe-sport-paddle-shifters-p-10459.html It looks like they can be installed, though Z1 might be able to provide more info about how to go about installing those since they are a different design.
