It was a pretty special trip! Did it years ago and would love to do it again sometime. Definitely a slightly different style of canoe tripping in the west compared to Ontario. Thanks for checking it out 👍🙂

I love BC too and lived there for a few years. I recorded video on alot of adventures for myself before I started my KZfaq channel. After I started the channel I decided to edit footage from some of those past trips. This is the reason why some videos are from so long ago. I'm happy to hear you're enjoying my content, more to come!

Thanks. We are heading out on the loop in late June this year. While we'll complete the loop in fewer days, we still want to take a day or two for layovers. Any spots you can recommend for a layover day? What sites would you have stayed at for two days if you had a chance?

May 2016 I believe, it was an amazing trip. The route is a set loop in Bowron Lake Provincial Park. Everyone is required to start and end at the same access point.

What time of the year did you do this trip? Living in southern Idaho makes me long for the waters of Canada. The Bowron Loop in BC is not that far!
@AleconAdventures

We did the loop as soon as it opened mid May. We were luck to have such good spring weather and we barely saw anyone else on the loop. That park is pretty close to you, it's definitely worth the drive. Thanks for watching!

About how heavy is that canoe Alec? I'm currently keeping my eyes peeled for one over here in Ireland, a double that I can bring the wife and kid out on but one that wouldn't be to heavy to portage on my own would be perfect!
@AleconAdventures
@AleconAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
On this trip we rented a canoe from a local outfitter. We went for the cheapest option which was a heavy fiberglass Yukon model by Clipper Canoes. It weighed about 70lbs and wasn't fun to portage. Thanks for watching!

@@AleconAdventures Addicted now to your videos, no turning back. Getting my outdoor fix by osmosis lol. Ouch that is heavy! I am a complete newbie to canoes but not to boating and fishing/adventuring, been doing that my whole life. Would you say that the Novacraft Prospector 15 weighing in @ 21kg(46lb) would be a good option for a starting soloist who perhaps sometimes takes along the wife from time to time? 46lb seems nice and light compared to the others on offer over here..
@AleconAdventures
@AleconAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
@@bethechangeme2233 The Novacraft 15ft prospector is a perfect solo canoe that could also be used tandem for shorter trips. Prospectors are great canoes because they can handle all types of paddling conditions. I paddle a prospector all the time. It's a symmetrical canoe so it won't track as well as some asymmetrical lake paddling canoes but you can paddle it solo by sitting in the bow seat facing backwards.

Only black bears bro, no human beings, so you do not need a gun. We saw a moose. Bear scat here and there . But we carried bear spray
