I'm from the states and we'll obviously never meet, but you've helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life with that post fight speech. I lost one of my best friends to an overdose a month ago and was definitely thinking some awful shit about wanting this pain to go away. So, thank you, Paddy

As a female and a 1st year psychology student that struggles with depression, I want to thank you for speaking up about the stigma that men can't show their emotions or struggle with mental health. I really appreciate your powerful words, it encouraged me to continue with my fight and studying psychology. Keep up the good work Paddy and sorry for your loss, remember the good times and what made him great. Love and peace from South Africa 🇿🇦

I''ve had a female friend of mine that's been struggling with bipolar for several years and I can honestly say that engaging in the mental health system and keeping her friend network in the loop has kept her breathing on more than one occasion over this time. We have a roster system we kick in when things get really bad to make she she's supervised but it relies on her letting us know when she's on the edge. I've told her myself many times I'd rather I get called out to her place than to lose her. Talking, reaching out, finding ways to get through those key critical moments can't be overstated

Thanks for highlighting such an important issue. Unfortunately the funding isn’t there for mental health. The government cuts the money every year. I know from personal experience the back logs and delay in treatment. I’m on a waiting list and I’ve been told it’s at least a year before I’ll be seen. Something urgently needs to be done about this as it’s costing lives. Keep up the good work mate. Thanks.

The fact that you said this after such a 'manly' event means you've reached exactly the right audience. You're encouraging people to talk, not just men, and you've used your platform for a fantastic cause. Well in lad.

Patty I know loads of guys are gonna tell you that you helped them and others might look on here to troll people that do thank you but honestly I can't tell you in words how much I appreciate you and thank you for giving me I guess the courage to tell my family I need help. After losing everything in a nasty divorce and just feeling defeated and destroyed with it all. I was wishing for death and giving up on life and because of you I know yeah I'm at rock bottom right now but things can only get better and I am asking for help and it's all because of you. Thank you Patty you seriously saved my life.

One of my best mate committed suicide in 2018 and still to this day I wish he would of just even mentioned how he felt to me or any of our group of mates, because none of us truly knew how he felt on the inside and hearing you talk about how he was always happy and how he was the life of the party really got to me, because that is exactly how my mate was, and to hear someone with your platform and your following talk about how cruel mental health can be it’s inspiring it really is, the best ones always go first, life is a bitch sometimes, big love paddy r.I.p to your mate Ricky he lives in through you mate, all the best pad god bless x

Real men DO cry. Hats off to you pad, you made so many people aware of you for the good you do. Not just the "trash talk" but for the truth you speak, the stigma with mental health needs to stop. Ive lost friends to it. I've nearly lost my own life to it.

Had an old friend randomly contact me to catch up last year. He never gave the impression anything was wrong, told me how great everything was going with new career opportunities.. woke up the next day to a phone call from his mom... that was one of the hardest funerals I've ever attended. He hid his emotions so well and never once mentioned his mental health struggles. Knowing he reached out to me but didn't feel comfortable enough to talk about his struggles with me really messed me up. First thing I did was sat down with my close friends and talked about everything I was feeling. Talking about your problems needs to be looked at as a strength rather than weakness. 1000% agree
