Padel rackets have different shapes: round rackets, teardrop or hybrid rackets and diamond rackets. Which padel racket shape should you choose? What are the differences between diamond and teardrop Padel rackets?

I started with a round racket, the Nox Equation. Today, after testing a lot of rackets, I received a teardrop racket (Nox AT10 18k) as my birthday present, really looking forward to using it. Curious about the differences! Thank you for the nice video, Pablo!

Glenn!! I used to play with that Nox and I found it more round than teardrop hahaha but let me know in a week your opinions about it's performance!

I am still honing in on what racket traits will agree with my play most. I think that I often hit at the top of my racket which makes me think a diamond shape will serve me well. Buuuut I think I struggle putting enough power behind defensive shots down the line. So much to consider! Another great video! Thanks again!

I was thinking the same. But then, I also considered that it is possible that we mostly remember our fuckups rather than our good strokes and since most memorable fuckups occur when you go for a smash and you end up mis-hitting the ball with the tip of your racket, then you may tend to think that you mainly hit with the top. I think one good way to solve my doubt is to go to one of this padel tennis courts that have video recording feature and get the match recording and analyze your strokes. Also, another way is to rent different shaped racket and play 3 games with each and see which one you perform the best with. Cheers!

Unfortunately I do not have the luxury of living somewhere where I can rent different rackets to try:/

So... why not choosing a teardrop shape racket? Hahahha

Those two are really good ideas!! Or simply stick your GoPro to the glass of the court (or set it on a tripod) and voilà! I've done that many times to see myself playing... and confirm I'm not Lebrón hahahaha

I played tennis with Wilson Pro Staff and first bought the Pro Staff Elite padel racket. It was quite weird, so soft and hard to have power due to low sweet spot and soft core. Switched to Blade Pro and it is much better for allround playing due to sweet spot location, feels quite solid as well and does what I want. However, I just tested Bela V2 LT and that was super easy one to play. Amazing handling and easy to hit shots but way too soft. Maybe should try one day the red fully loaded racket. Like you said, always try to test as soft + carbon fibre is not always the same between models. Great video as always, these are what we need 💯

Wow! I'm playing (not right now as I'm injured but before) with the Bela V2 Pro and honestly, I found it suuuuper easy to play with even it's one of the hardest rackets of Wilson for this season (but I wouldn't consider it a super hard-racket). If you have the chance to try it, do it!

Again a great video. I've played with teardrop/hybrid Siux. Now I'm playing with a round racket(play most of the time on the right) What are your thoughts about the Siux Spyder Revolution control 2?

I wonder how you recommend to try different rackets? From watching all your videos about padel rackets, I concluded one MUST test rackets (diamond, tear drop, and circular rackets, as well as with 100% soft, medium soft, or 100% hard... or with rough surface). So I would like to know if there are any specific ways you test padel rackets? Do you play a pickup match with friends for each padel you are considering? What thinks do you pay attention to when you are testing a racket? Maybe you can help me to my particular case. I have been playiing for 2 months, and I have taken 5 1-hour classes. I am quite strong and agile, so I'd like to start smashing more and . I have been using a soft Circulat Babolat with 345g of weight. In the beginning it helped me control my shots because I started with a 380g racket and I was just hitting too hard. Now, I feel like I am not able to add enough speed or spin to my shots. What rackets would you recommend I try next and why?

It depends a lot on where you live honestly... What I do is try to ask people that I see on my club if we can swipe rackets for a while and test it that way.. or ask to the store owner of the club if he has some test rackets to use. But after testing so many rackets I always look for how easy is to move it for me and the hardness and feelings it gives me specially in the lob and in the volleys (the shots that I do the most). I don't care most of the times about the materials because brands lie a lot... In your case I would try to use a quite heavier racket (why not 360-365g?). Remember that the heavier the racket, the more power you can get! But before that, size the balance of your current racket if you like it and then try to find a heavier racket with that exact balance (or modify yourself!). I hope that can help you

Great video Pablo but I have a question if you play against players as the same level as yours and they have better rackets do they have an advantage?

Yes! They could get a benefit from that in their shots 😅

I'm playing with Nox AT10 18K round racket of Tapia, but I lack the power in the racket itself and struggle to understand how Augustin is kicking those balls out without a failure. Any advice, should I try Nox Genius Attack instead or work on spinning technique to really kick that ball out? Would love to know your opinion.

Forget about the racket. You are using the same racket he has but the difference is obviously his technique! Think how good is yours and the points you can work on it, let's goooo!

Hi Pablo, i bought the new VK10 Nox. Its a round one. My strong shot is the smash however i find it difficult to smash with this. Is it because of the low balance or because of the shape?

Which one were you using before? Most of the times, when we change and use a new racket a time to adapt is required so... keep trying! But if you were using a diamond super-high balance, probably it's gonna take you more time hahaha

What does it mean for the head extreme one? Its a diamond shape racket, but its very light coming in at 345g.
