The old songs sung in Padutha Theeyaga are almost always better than the originals. I don't intend any disrespect to the original singers, but the sound quality was not the same back then. Also, I have heard the originals - Amma donga and Kalaganti kalaganti. These kids are just brilliant, I feel they sung better than the originals. It would be great if Padutha Theeyaga releases CDs/DVDs of the songs sung by the participants in each series.
