Wow! I’ve been obsessed with lover boy for years! It’s a crazy!! He’s such a joyous and generous soul! Even telling you what he’s gonna do next season. Love his work. Maybe it was simply a nervous mistake but nowaves from the late 60s? Hm. Doesn't take away from the work but nowave being currently so heavily recycled whilst originally existing strongly as critique of how punk ended in creating cliche and constant copy cat culture has many layers of irony. I sense more in this though an appreciation for the processes of experimentation than the outcome of imitating nowave. Not an unfamiliar story in any art or the avant-garde. As we explore and experiment ourselves what may not be new to the world can be ground breaking for new eyes. Honestly enjoy seeing its contemporary influence too
