Jeannie your middle school prank was hilarious!!! Your stories are so comforting and I love hearing you chat about everything. So sweet hearing about your husband's grandmother sending him a subscription for life. Those who leave us never truly leave us, do they? :) They always leave us with such lovely gifts, both material and in our hearts.

I have an animal reunion story you might like! in 2012 I was with a man who had a westie for a dog who was 2-3 years old. One day he called me devastated because the dog had disappeared. Ran out the door and they couldn't find him. a year later (when he moved two towns away) he decided to look at the humane society to adopt another dog and he saw a westie so he decided to go meet him and that dog was the dog who had ran away, he immediately recognized his owner. He adopted him (again) and had him for another 10 years before the dog passed away but the story always gets me haha

My dog got out during a rain storm once. We had him tethered outside because no matter what I did, he would go to the bathroom in the house whenever I left. So we thought maybe it would be okay to tether him outside (lots of places for shade and it wasn't that hot or cold, we had a gated yard and we weren't going to be gone long) but we didn't know it was going to rain and he was so scared of rain storms 😭 i felt so bad. We drove around looking for him but could not find him. I called the SPCA the next day and he was there!! Someone found him and turned him in to our local SPCA which wasn't that close to where I lived, you had to get on the highway to get there so someone had to have gotten a hold of him and knew he belonged to someone and brought him to the SPCA. When I walked into the kennel and he saw me, his little body was wiggling so much from wagging his nubby tail, I was so grateful someone decided to turn him in instead of just keeping him or just seeing him and not doing anything.

Jeannie, I so remember how everyone let their dogs out of the house to wander around the neighborhood! The kids and the dogs played freely. That would NEVER ever happen nowadays! Our dog, Skipper, left the house to go outdide in 1979 and we are still waiting for him to come back home! Please ask all of your channel subscribers to be on the lookout for a little blonde scruffy and oh so bossy terrier.😂😜

your videos are so comforting, jeannie! your personality takes me back to being a little kid, listening to my great grandmother making up stories to tell me while pretend-reading the one book i always wanted “read”. she actually used the same characters for these “stories.” they were two horses: a white horse named lightning and a black horse named henry. she passed when i was 14, and i’m almost 22 now. i miss her so much, and i’m so glad to have something similar to her 🖤

My late mother used to take Reader’s Digest in the bathroom when she had a bath as well as magazines back in the 70’s. She would be in there for hours. They did have some useful articles back in the day. I don’t like pranks, but my daughter did the one with the toothpaste on the Oreo to a girl in high school and gave it to her and she fell for it and actually liked it. I really enjoy your videos and the stories of your younger years. It’s good to be able to relate to someone who remembers the bygone era.

This brought back so many memories for me! My grandmother used to get readers digest and kept them when I was a child. Dozens and dozens of readers digest. I read all of them. I hated reading chapter books. Unless it was incredibly interesting to me, it couldn’t keep my attention. So I’d read the little stories in readers digest instead. They were all in pristine condition despite being old, and had such a specific smell. I’ll have to ask her if she still has them!

Concerning the egg-thing: I recently had a blood-test for all kinds of allergies as well. I now know I don't have an actual food allergy, just really strong cross-response reactions to foods that contain proteines that look like the ones where my body responds to due to hayfever. One of the foods giving a strong response are carrots: the value in my blood for those crossed a baseline (from where doctors suspect a cross-response) was 250 times over :P .

My grandpa used to do the same thing with his friends. This was the 30s and 40s and they would set little fires out in the middle of nowhere. Thats the kind of stuff they used lol. It was different. One time they were playing with matches and accidentally set an old barn on fire. There was nothing in it. It was in the middle of nowhere but they ran off and sat there up in the hills watching the fire department show up lol. Omg children used to be crazy. The funny part is he became a fireman as an adult haha. One time after he retired he was burning a bunch of brush on their property that he had cut and made a pile and the fire department showed up and they were all laughing when they showed up cause they get to the so called fire and it was old captain Roger's hahaha. They radioed back to the station and said "oh its old captain rogers up here playing with matches again" my nana and grandpa used to love telling that story. He's still alive but hes 94 and he's been real sick lately. But he's still here. Also I loved hearing your story about junior high. It reminded me of hearing my mom telling me stories about her when she was young. You should share more stuff like that.

@@JeannieBASMR you're welcome. I thought you might but it's good to have my suspicion confirmed haha. After I heard that story I had to share cause it instantly reminded me of my grandpa's stories. Children did different things then haha. He told me how he walked into sears and roebuck by himself and bought a 22 rifle and a box of bullets for like less than 5 dollars, lol. Then he, a 12 year old boy walked out of the store with a rifle over his shoulder and walked down the street through town and off to the hillside to go shooting. Him and his friend used to walk through town off to the hills with their 22's all the time and to shoot by themselves. It was a different world. The part that always boggles my mind is how guns were readily available to anyone even young boys and yet shootings were not a problem. Yet today with for all our gun control laws those kinds of crimes are at an all time high. In fact this generation is the one who started these youth/school shootings. I swear there is something that is affecting the youth of today. I'm 35 and I was that generation where all these issues starting originating from, but now it's even worse. It's sad that kids seem to have so many problems now. Adults too. It was a different world back then and people seemed happier. Something seems to be genuinely wrong with a lot of people today lol. But kinda not lol. Thanks for sharing your stories. I just love hearing you share.
