This is so inspiring especially since I resonate personally with her story. I have $58,000 in debt (50K student, 6k car, down to 2K on credit cards), am 29 and single. My parents also filed for bankruptcy when I was in college which left me to take out loans and buy groceries on credit since I didn't want to ask them for money. They are now divorced and a huge strain on their marriage was the traumatic bankruptcy. My goal is to be debt free in three years and Elizabeth (also my first name!), thank you for showing us that you can do it as a single person!!

@@phannypack3951 there is nothing wrong with paying down your debt at the pace you choose. It is your debt, you do what you want with it. By paying it down quickly, you can change your mindset on interest. Instead of the interest on your debts being a bane of your existence, it becomes a dear friend for your assets in the market. Again, do what you want with your debt. But once you realize how much money you can make after paying it off, it becomes a huge motivator to get rid of it quickly

Really if you believe hard work verses hitting goals will negatively effect your health you are entirely wrong you may get tired, but it is a good tired because you rule your destiny. I have worked in the pizza delivery restaurant arena for 32 years on and off, I do other things, but now I do it just because it is something I know. I have hit all of my goals that I set 32 years ago and it is more than enough for me to really enjoy life. All it is doing now is growing my wealth so that I can give more which is my nature.
@justbother9559
@justbother9559 7 жыл бұрын
I probably would not sleep on a leaky air mattress for very long, However, pizza delivery is not a hard job and pays well if you work as she is saying an additional 28 hours a week it is not going to kill you or harm your health as have done this off and on for 32 years whenever I wanted more money to reach a goal. I do 28 hours a week right now in that field and have for the last 4 years, I work from home over 40 hours a week doing things I love so it does not feel like work. No, I do not need to anymore, but my grown kids are starting out and need to see that money comes from a honest days work. They did not live with me most of their lives and I could not do what I would have done when they where kids, but now I can. They have just a year or two left until they are well established and then I will work less and enjoy the fruits of my many sacrifices I made the Dave Ramsey plan rocks. It is hard, but it is worth it.

We stopped all unnecessary expense like eating our movies, bar... if i can do it anyone can do it considering these are not my own personal debt.. Thankyou Elizabeth (and Dave). Your story was the first Dave Ramsey content that I ever saw and you inspired me so much. 6 years ago when I saw this I was in £400k of debt. Because of you I got gazelle intense and paid the whole lot off, including funding out my retirement. Your story of your leaky airbed came back to me so many times during my 6 years and I've often wondered how to find this episode. I have finally hit all my financial goals 1 week ago and by 'coincidence' your debt free scream came back on my youtube home page. Amazing. Thankyou. Along my journey, I got my bagpipes out of the loft where they'd been for 20 year, I cobbled together an outfit for my first gig, used that money to buy a better kilt etc and cashflowed the business. I also learnt the harp and wrote a book and created online courses. Along that debt journey I found my passion (playing bagpipes and harp at weddings and funerals) and turned it into a self-sustaining profitable business. Thank you Dave. Thankyou Elizabeth.

Delivering pizza that much I bet she has to get an oli change about every 3 weeks.. LOL Been there before..

In my case it is once a month, I bought a drum of oil so it costs like $10 yes that is a lot of oil, but I do my family and friends cars too. The car I drive for that has 210k on it, mechanically it is perfect because I do almost all repairs myself. As I said on another post I hit all the goals I set for a comfortable life long ago, but I set new goals. The pizza gig will stop in the next few years once my kids get out of higher education and start their careers, Work though at this point is not for earning money it is for making the lives of people I identify with better. Later it will probably also include causes I believe worthy even though I may never meet the people that I help #Legacy

Alan Freeman I used to deliver full time. It really depends on the stores delivery range. Mine wasn't so large. Even still I easily put 50 miles some days. Oil change every 4K miles used full synthetic, did it myself. It's actually really lucrative. Some days or weeks are bad but most of the time it's good. Even if you average $30 in tips by 6 days of work that's $180 on top of your wage. During summer time I would average about $200-350 week in tips.

Don Guello I feel ya. I’m at native San Diegan and our rents are comparable to you guys in LA, I would imagine. ($1,500-$2,000/month for poorly maintained apts in the bad parts of town). I sometimes read comments on here with people flipping out over a $1,200/month mortgage being too high, whereas I’m flabbergasted that they can get anything for so cheap, when even a low-end studio apartment is costs more than that each month. I’m sure you can relate. I know your comment was posted 9months ago, but I just wanted you to know that someone here could relate to your struggle of trying to get ahead and battling the constant feeling of drowning in rent. I’m curious to know how your journey is going and how you stay motivated when feeling like almost all of your income is going to rent? Hope all is well for you :)

I and my husband were in debts for three years until I came across this dude on KZfaq and I explained my predicament to him, he then introduced me to an hacker that grant loans and does bank hack, PayPal hack, ,credit score fix, bank account, phone hack(cheating husband or wife) western union hack, cash app top up, credit card top up hack, NFCU referral/sponsorship, loan approval, Instagram verification, Facebook and many more. After the hacker went through my information, my debt of $30k was cleared by him. Now I’m debt free. you can reach him on WhatsApp +17204430671 (he doesn't take upfront) he is very fast and reliable,
