Finally! When you said I'm so tired but I just don't fall asleep my eyes teared up a bit because no one understands when I say that. I take a sleep med as well and it does make me very tired but it doesnt actually make me fall asleep. I have to kind of force it once I get tired enough. And it is never really actual sleep if that makes sense... just like half sleep. However without the meds I literally DO NOT sleep. People that don't have our health issues will never understand.

It’s so frustrating and the more frustrated I get the harder it is to relax and fall asleep. I’m so happy that you and Tom did something fun. Hi Amy, you are beyond inspiring to me!!!! Iv been watching your vlogs for a little while. My 11 yr old daughter and I have just been DX with EDS. We both have other issues, Celiac, my daughter Colitis, and myself Chronic Asthma And scoliosis. We are soon to see a surgeon as there is suspected spinal instability etc for my daughter and they say also for myself.. What we deal with is so small compared to what you do!! You, and a friend of mine who also has EDS amongst a lot of other serious health issues, she almost died of Chiari but the same surgiram we are going to see saved her life! You both inspire beyond words and help me remember how blessed we are every day to have the health we do have and independence and ability that we do have! Your lives put things in perspective!! You are amazing Amy!! I hope I can show even a small percentage of the strength you do! God bless!! And I hope your little fur baby does so well!! I have two fur babies!! I am not sure how I found your channel but super glad that I did!! Just turned 33 and I am currently going through radiation for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with bone metastases. Everything you have to endure makes me realize that I am lucky even with my diagnosis. You will be in my thoughts!! And I believe pain insomnia is real !!!

I am glad your doctor is willing and helpful in collaborating with your medications, from pain management to sleep interruption, it is very important for you to work as a team.

I have had the same situation with my blood sugars being low while I am sleeping and it actually wakes me up. Weird but I am sure glad that it does!!

I have fibromyalgia and I'm constantly exhausted. Last night i dozed for 4 hours, just half asleep, and now i have to get up and go out for 2 hours of physio! I also find i can sleep easier during the day, like naps, which is what im gonna do when i get back! So sorry to hear about Lily, knowing her though she will power through this! I hate not being able to sleep. I have fibromyalgia and I spend my days exhausted but yet can’t sleep 🤣

Amy! You are the strongest most beautiful lady ever. Tbh you are my most favorite youtuber not only because you are amazing, funny, and awesome but also because I relate to you so so much I have so much chronic illness myself. I have congenital hypothyroidism with a synthroid resistant thyroid that ended up almost ending my life and had to be removed to save my life, but SADLY the surgeon who took my thyroid out BOTCHED my surgery and cut and paralyzed my vocal chords leaving me unable to breathe or speak on my own and had to get a trache in my neck. I've now had almost 13 surgeries in order to get the trache out and rewire my vocal chords. I have a surgery every 5 years or less now to cut all the scar tissue out that grows in my airway leaving me on oxygen, cpap and on bed rest most of the time. I swear the older you get the worst your body scars and slows down healing so much. Chronic illness is my life and always will be and I dont have anyone to relate to anymore since I lost my best friend to cystic fibrosis. You honestly make me feel like I'm not so alone. Sorry for the long rambling storytelling I just wanted to say you inspire me and help me not feel so alone. You're my hero ♡♡♡♡ love always and also I hope Lilly's doing better!

I was on the same pain patch and it burned my skin too. It was so frustrating because they worked so well but I had bleeding blisters everywhere that I had placed a patch, and it took them forever to heal.

I have been going to the pain clinic for 17 years now and know what your going through with the pain meds. It took me a year and half to get off the 2 pain meds I was on because my family doctor had me on so many meds and kepting upping them. I have been on methadone for pain for 4 years and just starting to taper off of them because they are not working anymore. But they were the best for the first 3 years. They helped with the depress and anxiety also. So I didn't have to be on any meds for that. I just had a spinal cord stimulator put in 2 weeks ago so hoping I get some relief with that. My problems aren't near to what your going through but I do understand the pain part.

Agreed girl! Hate dental work. My dentist is actually amazing he is very understanding with my anxiety and feelings going through losing a large portion of my own teeth replacing them with denture on top and partial on bottom and was very sweet with how he was while doing the work and not like acting like I shouldn't be upset. I didn't like bawl but when he told me he couldn't save the top teeth due to the lack of care given at my prior dentist office a couple tears rolled down my cheek because at 35 I was not ready to face wearing a full denture on top and he just put his hand on my shoulder and was super nice. He told me that he understood how I was feeling but that I wouldn't be in so much pain and constantly fighting infection and reminded me that being i'de been on antibiotics for about 3 months at that point due to my teeth that it was further wreaking havoc with my already fd up immune system (2 auto immune diseases) and I knew he was right but losing my teeth because of the constant reflux and the 6 months of constant vomiting while pregnant plus random vomiting when my reflux got super bad my teeth were just making me sicker. It was still hard and hate hate hate needles! Oof

You were talking about waking up and having symptoms of low blood sugar ! I have Late stage COPD and when I go to sleep I have to where a bypap machine because I'm on strong pain meds, and when I sleep I don't breath right and the symptoms of that is the same I get jittery all over and my v9ision is wack

From one non-sleeper/chronic pain sufferer to another, my heart goes out to you Amy. I'm currently dealing with finding a sleeping pill that'll keep me asleep , not just put me to sleep. I get insomnia related to my thyroid disease..I find eating something sweet before bed helps my brain slip into the dream world and I stay asleep beyond my usual 12:30 am reawakening

I completely understand the not sleeping. I have had about 3 hours of sleep today. So annoying to not sleep. I try calming, sleepy tea. I have been watching ASMR videos to try to sleep. Its is awful. Hey Amy, I have Hypermobile EDS and I really struggled with sleep and still do. In addition to my medication I have started using a weighted blanket, I don't know if you've tried one before. I use the heaviest one available, 25lbs. (10 pounds heavier than the recommended size for my weight) It works great for restricting my movement during the night and keeping me from hurting myself by tossing around. Maybe give it a try if you haven't before!

Sorry you are having a rough time! I am on over 509mg if pregablin, morphine, slow release and quick release etc etc and I still have issues sleeping. Diazepam or temazepam doesn’t seem to work for me either except the next day it makes me feel like crap lol so I defo feel your pain. But you look so so pretty one your way to the game. Your eyes are so pretty. Don’t give up hope on the sleep. Something is bound to work x Edit: I had to go off the pain patches because it started to burn my skin and was so itchy so switched to tablets only. It’s a pain. You aren’t getting it easy!

hey so i’ve had a feeding tube for a while now but everyday after i’ve completed my feeds i always start to feel really weak and shaky is this normal?

Is it possible to put antihistamine cream on for a few hours before you put the patch on and if you wear the patch in the day you can make sure you take it off after exactly 8hrs so that it's not on longer than you need it?

I’m an insomniac. I take one prescription until it stops working and get prescribed a new one. It’s a forever struggle. Sleeping struggles are quite horrible. I hope you got it sorted

I love being able to listen to someone who deals with pain and no sleep.. I have spina bifida and thethered cord which causes constant pain nd spasms and everything the trying isn't working om totally drained

( did you try lavender or camomile oil for your skin reaction? I have allergic reactions to patches or band aids (don’t really know the right term as i am from holland and i am not thinking straight) but those oils helped a bit with itch, redness and pain for me. hey, about pregabalin. i take it as well for like a half year. i take it in the morning 150mg to calm me down for the day. it does not make me sleepy at all. i even used to take 600mg.. did not rly have an effect on me :/. have you ever heard of seroquel? i take it for sleep. 150mg and it makes me so so so sleepy. its for falling asleep and sleeping through. i would definitely recommend it to you. also i take dominal forte.. its for sleeping through the night. i have massive sleep troubles and it helps me
