Dan, you are your family, Danielle and Ed. Have ignited awareness to myself. My father of 88, a vet, retired at 55... I thought always, ya know, had it together and , good. Has his stuff together. Watching what yall share, made me reach out to him more and it's very evident he is early stages of dementia/senile. I'm no professional. But thank you for giving me an awareness. I am flying out to see them 3 states away this week. For a while. What's evident? He has texted/called 2x today what day or month I will be there no more than 12 hours from our last conversation. Therefore, I want to say thank you! Bless your hearts. I want to be there for them as you are for yours. ❤

Poor Ed. That's really a painful injury. I don't know if this is even possible, but if you could get some surgical tape placed on that area to support the muscle that might help. Years ago a doctor did that when I had pulled back muscles, and it made a huge difference. Good luck.
@LaUsFree24259 ай бұрын
Yes I 100% agree with you. That is a very bad painful injury. Literally knocking the breath out of him. Assuming this is a pulled muscle. When this could be fractured? Or cracked. 1 or 2 ribs? His doctor can order portable X-ray write to their house. His vitals. Need to be taken because being in that much pain. Brings the Blood Pressure up. It can cause cardiac arrest. Now with the back Starting to hurt. They have to rule out That his lungs ROK. 91 This one was Hard to watch. As well.

A pulled abdominal muscle is painful for any of us. Nothing really helps that pain unless you can take a muscle relaxer and have time to be knocked out by it. I can imagine it would be scary to not remember that it’s a pulled muscle. When that extreme pain kicks in it would definitely make your mind go to something serious is going on. Dan, you do a remarkable job keeping him reminded of what is going on. That has to give him a temporary sense of relief. I hope you and grandpa recover quickly. ❤

I just ran into a video, called music and memory and how they discovered it’s incredible benefits in a nursing home with people who are completely shut down. Some of them begin to talk again and they sing along. They give them ear phones, and an iPod and play music from their generation. You might try this with him and see if it gives him some enjoyment and you a little break if he’s not into watching the TV. They say it helps the brain tremendously.

I know how difficult it is cause I cared for my mama who also had dementia before she passed. It was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done, however it’s the most special memories I have being able to care for her in those last months. She loved me and cared for me growing up, so reversing roles was hard to do but I don’t regret a moment of my time with her. It’s so good to see you and Danielle caring for your dad the way you do!
