Walking can be really painful on our Hypermobile joints. It can be even more painful walking uphill and downhill. Here’s a little video to demonstrate walking uphill.
We often lean forward, putting pressure on the low back, thighs, knees and ankles. In this posture, the back body is not engaged to help us. We’re missing out on the vital power of the glutes and hamstrings. The foot is not being utilised to propel us forward.
It can seem like we are literally falling forward into each step rather than being sprung forward and up.
This can take time to practise. Take a look at my KZfaq live foot class too to understand the mechanics of the lower limb.
Hope this is helpful to enjoy some spring walks. I just love these spring flowers in the park 🌺.
Have a great day 🦓💪
