The only difference I would've done with the wiring, is splice all the rear wires together in the rear so there's less wire to run to the front. Other than that, great job.

I used wire loom on mine. 17 of them on a 4amp circuit. Also wired to a Voswitch. I spliced into my own 18ga wiring and only brought 2 wires to the engine bay. I didn’t use RGB because it complicated the install unnecessarily.

@@AdventureBuilt so I posted a link to an Amazon product that you may want to look at using. I dont think it went through, but what I replied with was a isolated power distribution block. There are many styles and types. They have studs that you use to connect multiple wires to. I would recommend installing ring terminals on each wire so if you have a issue with one of the wire circuit or light you can remove it with loosing the whole lot.

Only difference I would have done would be a power distribution block (used in car audio a lot). It would basically give you the same set up as the RGB block, all the wires run to the distribution block and then 1 power and ground to the Voswitch.

Funny you say that. I actually got a power distribution block but it was huge and made for heavier gauge wire so I decided not to use it. Plus I was looking for something more weather resistant and didn’t think that would hold up under the truck. What do you think?

@@AdventureBuilt they make like marine distribution blocks or “dust resistant” Idk about putting one under the truck but I would be comfortable with one in the engine bay. Some have positive and a ground post both. I’ve not used one that is 6-8 ports so idk how big that size is, but that was my thought.

i used the pro switch installer so i wouldnt have to do what you did. All the wires go into their controller, than the power source it needs is fed to my voswitch. Much easier. I ran 8 lights and im thinking about adding 4 more just because.

Another great video. Lights look awesome. In regards to the wiring, I personally would have did what Chucks Sandman mentioned, and ran them as a single line going forward. Also soldering the connections is another tip, those connections don't come loose like butt connectors can. Didn't see any links, not sure if you sell any merch or not, but curious where can we get an Adventure Built hat? Looking forward to the next video and the Bumper install :)

Butt connectors are superior to soldering in our application. Mechanical splice is preferred over soldering because over time the solder will break from vibration. The two biggest problems with solder connections in a wiring harness is corrosion and cracking due to mechanical stress or vibration. Both of these issues are generally preventable with adequate strain relief and joint protection such as heatshrink, or better yet, heatshrink with a glue lining. Cracking of solder joins in wiring harnesses is not an uncommon occurrence, especially after many years of service. There are many examples of OEM vehicle manufacturers’ solder joints cracking or corroding causing any number of issues.

They are great lights and they can be controlled by just the key fob. You don’t need to wire in a switch.

@@AdventureBuilt Nice! I’m in the NW area, not too far from Lake Pleasant. I saw your video when you had your Tacoma stock going the back way to Crown King. It was enough for me not to take a chance in my stock Tacoma. I would lift my truck, but it isn’t cheap! I also need to change the gears if I want to put 35’s and I wouldn’t stop there, I would install the air lockers as well. I don’t know if you guys have done anything with the differential gears, but if you haven’t, definitely do a video of it.

I’m really thinking about getting this rock light, only wondering what you think about deep snow , sand or heavy mud? Will it pull them off ? I’ve been up to the frame many times.

They are pretty awesome. I actually put a zip tie on the cable about 9” from the light that way if it ever got caught on something it would just hang from the power cable. The magnets are really strong. I honestly don’t thing they are going to pull off.

Wassup adventure built I was wondering if I could connect all my lights together that are already assigned to their own switch and connect them all to another switch so they can all strobe at the same time because I noticed that you can only strobe one light at a time.

I don’t quite understand the question. The lights do all get hooked together into 1 switch. The lights on the Tacoma are only white. The lights on the 4Runner are RGB and can strike in different colors but they stay the same color. Is this what you are talking about?

@@JT4R__ yea you can totally connect all the wires together and put them into 1 switch. I might have to do what I did and step them from 8 wires to 4 wires to 2 wires down to 1 wire otherwise trying to clump 8 wires will be too crazy to get into 1.

How do you adjust what voltage/amperage each connector gets? (Not all attachments need the same current). And can you set always on terminals that turn on when the car does? (ie raptor lights, or accessories)

Everything gets the same voltage (12v) unless they are wired in series. The current is determined by the resistance in each load.

Can you leave the lights on when the car is shut off like that? What about pods and off road led lights? How long can I leave lights on like that before the battery dies?

Wiring through the VoSwitch you can leave the lights on for a while but they will turn off since it’s on an ignition switch. It’s a good safety.

I would have ran a large single wire down the truck as ur source wire then cut and tap into that wire for the individual lights. Think of it a large bus bar wire fir power and eliminate the massive amount of wires under the truck

That’s a pretty cool product but I hate to tell you that the majority of your truck is not metal there is very little metal in it at all . it’s mostly made out of the allies steel isn’t even a metal it’s an actual alloy metal is something that occurs the nature naturally alloys are man-made lol . I know you’re rolling your eyes but it makes me laugh anyway.
