Nail polish comes in such wonderful colors these days. I painted a plain metal Religious Icon using nail polish. I have also seen light switch covers painted with nail polish. I recently read a book by a Chinese immigrant. Her aunt brought her nail polish from the US. She wore some to school and all the kids went crazy for it. All the students male and female starting coloring their nails with colored pencils to mimic the polish. 😊🤗😚😙❤❤

Use a thin brush or cut the hairs off of a crappy brush. A thin brush is key...so is cleaning the glass with alcohol!

I had a nail polish that was the perfect color for a very small planter with a glass like finish so, of course I painted it. I did one coat which covered just enough to turn the wrong shade of green to the perfect aqua! Now I won’t be afraid to handle it too much!

Oh Gosh Mark, these are so cool, I really love using nail polish to paint on glass as I have done this before, I like to grab lots of different colors at the Dollar tree. I actually painted the S on my car a purple, I have the Toyota S, it's the sport addition Corolla. I've done this before making polka dots and love the outcome!! I did discover though that it's not dishwasher safe. Almost all my dots came off. Lol....Oh well!

Hi Elaine! Did you use a top coat, too? I did a couple of layers of a topcoat and washed them in the dishwasher and they turned out fine. I also used the quick wash setting.

A drop is about all you'll need. Give it a minute to settle and make sure to shake it up like crazy!

Heyyyy Mark! I love the colors on these glasses! Dare I say they are a smashing success!?! But really, I love that you used simple brushstrokes which even I could duplicate. It would be thrifty and fun to create custom wine glasses or even shot glasses for you next party as a great take home item.

Yes and yes. Just make sure to use lots of topcoat (you can't see it because it's clear) and let them dry for a few days.

Hey Mark!! :))) These are really super neat! Love your color palette. Question can you use the "glitter" nail polish as well, some are really chunky, and don't know if that may be a problem. I see this used on wine glasses near the stem maybe some tiny rhinestones (used for nails). Doing a set in a different color for each so people know which glass is theirs is a plus! As usual you simply amaze me with your terrific ideas!! :)) Have a great day!!:)))

They are just fine line brushes and if by chance you can't find them, you can cut the hairs off of a thicker brush and make your own.

Yes it does. But use a q-tip so that you don't mess up your other work.

Hi Jodi, It can but you want to be sure to use the top coat and let the paint cure for a few days. I tend to wash all of my handmade dishes by hand because if I'm going to take the time, I want them to last.

You can easily handwash them. Just make sure to use the clear coat.

Not if you coat it a few times with the clear coat. You can put these in the dishwasher after the paint has cured but I always handwash my hand painted glassware just in case.
