Really good tips packed in this one video!! The last tip to always add water also saves me! I've been doing it without realizing. It gives me more time to think about the next step, sometimes I even lift everything because I don't like the way it looked.

For me...i would have liked to see layerings, and the principles to use them, for instances the order of colors, and the type of technique wet in wet etc etc nice demo

Thanks ever so much for sharing your talent and knowledge. Such important points are often overlooked. I loved the tip about adding water, as my tendency is to use too much. (The few workshops I took the instructor always stated I did.) When I was learning watercolor, there was a British artist, Alwyn Crawshaw on public television. He felt that not enough water was used generally, so he always used to say, "Remember, bags of water!".

Haha that’s okay! One step at a time (: The scene is relatively complex, try focusing on just one area at a time, and only wet that area. You can do multiple attempts to improve upon every time!

Amazing painting!!! congrats!!! any idea how making the white backround look whiter??? cause I noticed in many pictures or thumbnails whites looks superwhite in paintings is there any special picture filter or a camera trick thats been used before uploading anything on the net?? Thanks in advance

Great questions! If you want to get the paper to look closest to reality- scanning the painting is the best way (which I have done here). And if you can’t scan, you’ll have to do a few corrections with a photo editing software. You want to correct the values mainly. On Photoshop the tool is called Levels. You remove the right and left excessive areas (hard to explain by text but I can make a vid on it!)

@@LironYan Thank you very much for the answer, thats what I wanted to hear, I know how to edit in Photoshop adjusting levels etc in pictures but It would be great if you made a tutorial specifically for watercolours!!! I think it would help a lot!!!

Hi Liron. I found this video, like most of the others, to be quite informative. And for the first time I really noticed the paints in the compartments of your palette. They seem as if you just squeezed them out of the tubes. Is this the case, or do you do something else to get that consistency?

It’s not the case, they are usually already dry (: But as long as you use high quality paints, and you avoid the (few) pigments that are very hard naturally (which tend to be the more earthy, metallic ones) - they should rewet very well with a bit of patience (: Also, many including myself spray over all of the palette before getting started, to let the paint slowly reactivate on its own (which I didn’t do this time haha)

@@LironYan Thanks. I think for me the key word is patience. This applies to my whole watercolor process. Lately I’ve been working on two paintings at a time so that one can dry while I’m working on the other. This morning I’m riding the exercise bike while the water is soaking into the dry paint.

How do you manage to have your palette not stained? Even after using phthalo colors.. Mine gets so stained after a single day of painting all the time 😂
