We have been waiting years for a plastic and (affordable) version of the Solar Auxilia to drop and it's finally here! ‪@officialwarhammer‬ sent me over the new Solar Auxilia Battle Group box early to paint up and review and I got straight into it with this Dracosan Heavy Transport tank! I struggled a bit with Solar Auxilia schemes, and ended up going for one similar to my Krieg tanks, but with the extra splash of colour at the front of the tank. I'm really happy with the result, and maybe now I'll finally have the courage to paint my older Forgeworld versions too! Let me know what you think of the scheme, and if you think it will work for the infantry as well! What else would you like to see painted from the box set?

I’d love to see how you painted up your troops as well. I was thinking to paint my army up like this as well for the same reason. Especially since rumour has it that Kreig are getting a full plastic army release by the end of this year

I’m really liking the solar auxilia leman russ, I think I might start adding them into the traitor guard instead of the standard one. And of course once again stellar job you did with this one and it definitely looks better in a more militaristic paint scheme well done Andy. I would like to see the sentinel done but also that leman russ 🙂

You're right in that KZfaq isn't much help for painting guides, unless you follow specific youtubers and watch everything they post, you literally can't search for these things because they title the videos like "THE BEST NEW TANK?" or something worse. I'm so glad your channel hasn't gone down that route, and it also helps when your videos are as good as they are!

Germans used grey uniforms during WWII. It is pretty useful in city battles. Apart from that I chose the Ash Scorpions for Solar Auxilia in LI. The tanks look great with the red spot colour which incorporates the scorpion icon.

There is a funny picture in the internet that says "fifty shades of Feldgrau" (fieldgrey) because ot ranged from lighter grey to darker grey to brown to yellowish and to green and many colours between.

Very cool! I'd like to see the sentinel and the infantry done in that color scheme. I don't like the sentinel either, it just looks weird to me. Ungainly like it should be falling over .😅 However I do like the light sentinel. I know it's not in this particular set. But I'm sure GW will be sending you a copy ASAP. Keep up the good work your videos are fantastic. 👍🏼

Seems like GW took a lot of inspiration from the German "Großtraktor" tanks from the latte 1920's when making this model, especially the Großtraktor made by Krupp. This whole box seems to be heavily inspired by all the "what if WWI never ended" scenarios, too many design choices for it to be a coincidence. It's an interesting setting to be inspired by :)

@@MediocreHobbies it looks great and I really want to get one of these tanks, it's great that they went this direction in design. It basically gives us a new Guard faction for 40k as well. Hope it pushes more companies to make some "what if WWI didn't end" inspired miniatures now that GW makes the Solar Auxilia more accessible in plastic.

Great video. Liked the look of Solar Auxilia and Ad Mech however the cost was crazy. Have taken the plunge with the plastics. Thinking of just going bare metal with the vehicles. May look at some of the WWII channels for scheme ideas and hints

Hi Andy, wow! Another great video! This is a great time to be interested in GW kits, I mean, at the moment, I want you to give us Bretonnian, Beastmen, Dark Angel and Solar Auxilia! These are all ranges that have grabbed my attention, and I totally agree with your take here. Space Marines can be as flashy as they like, normal humans, no matter how well armed, need every advantage they can get! So, a Krieg type theme makes total sense to me, and honestly, I can see how this is what I would want Solar Auxilia to look. More please!

Yes!!! I’m so happy solar auxilia came to plastic! I have about 500 points worth of the resin kits and I’m so glad that I don’t to spend an arm and a legs worth of $$ on them!! 😅😅

I always loved Solar Aucilia but I was priced out of buying them. Looking forward to more content of them. I always wondered how tanks would look on bases. You could make some great scenic bases for them so they're all their own mini diorama

I have so much Imperial guard, talking at least700 infantry models, 30 hwt, 200 different pieces of armor 5 Valkyrie/vendettas, logistics vehicles and 2-3 super heavies. they were my first and only army back in 2010, and I’ve been collecting them. Now in my late twenties, I hope to one day paint them all to at least a respectable quality. But I fear I will mess it up. Debating starting a massive army of these new solar guys but only if I get the first regiments done first :)

I'd like to see you take on some more of the plastics from the Solar Auxilia battlegroup box, but honestly, once you have a scheme down for them, if you have an entire resin Solar Auxilia army sitting in boxes then that's what I want to see you paint. It's a tragedy to let something like that go unused, especially given the expense.

I'd really like to see how you paint up the heavy sentinel. For years, my first and only playable Heresy army was Solar Auxilia, so whilst I'm in no rush to add more line infantry and tanks, I want to add the sentinel and command squads to add something different. And yes, the first thought on seeing the regimental stripe decal was the Deathly Hallows! 😂 Excellent video as always and looking forward to the next one in the series.

It’s such a shame they didn’t make this legal for 40K. It would fill a real gap, looks great - but I’m not in the market for a Heresy army. I heard the reason they keep pushing back against multi-use units is internal battles: the 40K team doesn’t want sales in the Heresy account. But it would be great for GW - more sales per SKU! So frustrating and obviously affecting Old World / AoS as well.

Wait how large is your krieg army again?!? Grest colour sheme. I have the similar idea of using it for my krieg army. I guess the SA infantry are some special Krieg engineers who got some really nasty chemical weapons and needed a better armor suit to protect them against it.
