I had been using just water in the white paint for the cells,and it worked great, When I put in floetrol I didn't get cells. It didn't work with the pre stain conditioner recipe either..I went back to just water as well. I did put floetrol in the colors and pillow to help with cracking.Very informative video,thank you.

Judy I did the same thing and got good results. I’m actually using the same consistency that I use for Dutch pours. Water only!!

Interesting experiments. Thanks, Tammy. I had a feeling there was more than one way to get similar results with many fewer ingredients. My observation is also that every step along the way in this video, your paintings were looking beautiful to me, with or without cells, with or without the gold! I think in our efforts to replicate someone else's techniques, we sometimes lose sight of the real goal here of having fun and creating original, beautiful, and personal works of art that we and others can enjoy. That's really what it's all about!

With just water and paint the colours are much more defined whereas with floetrol they are blended into one another. The dark blue surrounds the other colours like a boarder around it, very pretty, much nicer than a blended mix. Thanks for this experiment, saves us a bunch of money.

Rinske Douna’s Dutch pours are done with paint and water and she gets something similar to blooms all the time. She uses only Amsterdam brand paint.

Right? That's what I was thinking here. It's really all about technique rather than ingredients. I will say however using those house paints everything just looks so much more intact for some reason. Either way I think I'm done with this technique. I miss my resin and other acrylic pour techniques. Ty so so much😘❤

I have spent the last week and a half running from Home Depot’s, to Lowe’s, to Walmart, out of Sean hardware, Ace Hardware, to Sherwin-Williams… Walmart dollar store you name it. Trying to gather all the supplies to do every technique that I’ve been wanting and every time I watch I noticed, and they get their mixing recipes, I’m always missing one of the components. I started this endeavor by saying, “Oh I have everything I need I just need FLOETROL”. However I now have that, I kick spinner, triple thick acrylic some thing or rather, glue, unscented paint bees white paint, about 12 tubes of Liquitex or artisan or whatever to paint … And the list goes on! In town, I find out, that’s all I needed was water??! I even have distilled water! LOL… Oh well, now I can have fun experimenting, right?

I have attempted 20 paintings so far with only 5 that are okay. But the one that turned out spectacular was the one that I used only water in the white. Beautiful cells and lacing. Yesterday I went back to the water recipe and attempted a tri set. Again beautiful!! Again thanks for the demonstrations and teaching. ❤️❤️

I made a lazy Susan from my old microwave dish and a candy bowl from goodwill. I plan on to decoupage it with a napkin from Tuesday Morning. Then I will resin it.
