IMO biggest downside of the Mirror/HDR/Chromatic lenses is that the coating scratches off too easily, and it becomes way more noticeable than the same scratches on a clear or smoke lens. Best combination in my opinion is to just have a smoke lens for normal play, and then a clear or yellow/copper lens for when playing in low light or indoors.

KarlEller totally agree. I prefer the yellow lens and smoke. Bought a gold mirror lens for my Evs and my vanquish scratched the hell out of it the first day I got it.

What are your thoughts on a sort of transition lens for paintball? In direct sun, they would block out more light but in the shade or indoors, they will be more clear

Hi @Painball Ruined My Life, I'm planning to buy a Proflex X and use it for airsoft. And I mostly play indoors.. they also have all kinds of lenses for those.. could you tell me which would be most beneficial for indoor use? Some parts in the field are rather dark-ish but at some points there's also quite some light coming through (not as much as outside obviously), which lens would be most recommendable you'd say? Because there 's Prizm lenses and Prizm 2.0 lenses and Prism High Def 2.0.... Sooo I don't know dude XD Its difficult to choose if you do not really have the ability to test them or whatever.

I would do clear for sure, every time I have played indoor the lighting has also been pretty bad and wouldn't want to block any light.

Paintball companies spend thousands on trying to fix things that aren't broken like pods for example; high cap pods, button release pods etc. what needs to be done is a lens that is 100% water resistant.

Thinking about upgrading a JT lens on a JT flex 8 camo. I have the yellow, film is peeling (3yrs / its old) and wanted a better look. Im torn between the hi-def and sky. Dont want it too dark which is the reason Im not looking to the retro yellow, lava etc. Any advice

The Hi-Def is going basically look clear. The Sky is a bit darker and has a bit of a blue tint. Most of the JT mirror stuff is going to be about the same tint, minus the retro yellow which is dark.

What's the difference between the Empire EVS mirror gold and mirror silver lenses vs Empire EVS HD Gold and HD silver lenses?

I would go to a coloured/mirror lens, but I mainly play woodsball and the bright color on my face just flat out gives me away. So if you want looks and style, go for a mirror, if you want to blend in a little more, go clear or smoke.

He clearly said smoke for sunny/no shade and yellow for woods/shades if you watch the video, so smoke for woodsball is likley not ideal.

I have that exact mask. I love it but ty it o somewhere first, they do fit a bit lose and the strap doesn't tighten down as much as I would like. But, its a great mask and very comfy for the price. Like I said just try one on, friends have worn mine and no liked it.

I have a vio ascend, I recommend it. It's a really nice mask, comfortable and protective. 100$ is a lot though. I got mine for $80.

Transparent for night or rainy days and black for sunny days. That’s my set up.

My experience with the copper/yellow lenses is that they amplify sunlight into the eyes, thus making them difficult to wear in anything but the woods or cloudy conditions. Virtue's ice mirrored lens is very similar to a copper lens from the viewer's perspective, only a bit darker with that added sun protection.

its reliable and can shoot mid grade paint just fine. For that price I think its a good deal.

Just smoke style tint, they dont have that blue/purp tint.

HD Gold is not as dark, the are almost clear. The Mirrored Gold is like a smoke or dark lens.

Stavy G I love them, but with my smoke lens on really sunny days the sunlight comes in through the top and it does affect vision a little. so I ended up getting a visor for sunny days and on rainy days it works great too the foam traps sweat and rain so it won't run down your face. but I have never had an issue with them yet and I have played from 30 degrees to sunny and 95 and humid.

I’ve got a white dye i5 and the vents reflect in the lens of the gold lens and it obstructs my vision. Would a smoke or yellow lens fix that?

put a visor on it, I did that recently for my i5. The light coming in made it really hard to see through the lens and I would mostly have to stick to shaded areas to play.

Vmax + all the way. More durable, easier on paint, lighter, holds more paint, and you won't be shooting 20 bps so you don't need a crazy fast hopper. Most fields cap ROF around 10, 12, or 15 bps anyway

Well there is one problem (at least with dye masks). All their lenses has a fogged yellow protective film over the inside, that you’re of course not allowed to remove unless you purchase. And the stores usually don’t remove it from let’s say one of each, for demo purposes.

I know this is an old video, but currently looking into which lenses to go for, most likely copper at this point. However it annoys me how many videos there are, yet none of them show them in the field, from a different persons perspective. How easy they are to spot at a different, if I would just be a beacon to headshots

its less expensive than the tipx, but the mags are more expensive, the mags hold less ammo and you will end up using more co2 cartridges. IMO the only reason to get a t8.1 (don't get a t8) is if you have the money for a remote line adapter and a zetamag adapter for tipx zetamags

I only play in the woods so I prefer the Yellow lenses. Empire has a newer lens colour called HD Gold. I want to try it, but I've never seen it in person. I would appreciate any opinions from people who have tried Empire's HD Gold lens. It is lightly mirrored, so I'm wondering if it is still good in low light. The last time I ordered a new lens from my local online retailer, I did order HD Gold, but they sent me Gold Mirror. When I called them about it, they didn't have any HD Gold, so I had to trade my Gold Mirror for another Yellow lens.

Brendan Palmquist save and get a profiler it's like 65 bucks and a great mask

Yep, profiler is your best choice. I used it for 1.5 years with a single pane lens and it never fogged

The vio ascend and JT proflex are the cheapest options that are still good masks. Profilers are okay but I found them to be too bulky.

I never liked the metallic-finish lenses, as they just seem less stealthy to me. If you're sneaking through the bushes on a woodsball field, shiny/bright/reflective things on your face are not your friend.

Steve Cope in speedball, there is basically no stealth. I imagine that’s what they’re really aimed at. I only have a mirrored lens because I mainly play speedball, and I can barely see anything in the woods.
