This week I decided to try making painted bread with the Crusty French Country Boule bread recipe from my first cookbook! I am certainly not a painter (I'll leave that to my mom!), but I had a lot of fun and learned that it doesn't have to be a perfect painting to make a charming bread to share. I topped off a warm slice with some Wild Violet & Lavender Herbal Compound Butter. Both recipes are linked below!

Thanks for the idea! I have not made specifically “cat food” but I do often feed them homemade foods like scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, cooked chicken, cooked carrots, etc.

French butter is so amazing that I've never been tempted to make it from scratch. Until now ! Also, I would have buttermilk as a byproduct, which we can't get here in France. When you were finished everything looked too beautiful to eat! All that hard work. I’m always dismayed that it takes my family of 4 minutes to gobble down a meal that took an hour to make. Thank you so much! 🥰 The tea cups are by a brand called Corner Ruby. I can't seem to find them online, but they are currently for sale in Homegoods, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx. I am not quite sure where they originally come from! Yes, I do garden! I was a market gardener for several years before moving full time into content creation. I grow the edible flowers that I use.
