Here is a tutorial on how I quickly paint up my 2mm French line troops. The name of the game at this scale is to go for an impression and not the details. Liquid talent in the form of a good wash is always helpful.

Fantastic job creating the impression of a mass of uniformed troops by applying the right paint to the right places and skipping what can’t be reached or seen directly. I had to watch this one on the TV instead of the phone, but they are unmistakably French line by the end!

It seems like 3d printing is really a boom for wargaming minis. The better the 3d printing hobby gets, the better minis get! Cool stuff as always

Absolutely, but is not very economical if you are without a printer, A lot of the stuff is overpriced compared to what you can get in plastic. For instance, it's cheaper to get Perry Plastics or Warlord Games Bolt Action miniatures compared to buying the same amount of miniatures per box from a 3d Printer.

I'm not sure you mentioned it but do you use you "Stovepipe Shako" infantry as French as well as British. Great stuff by the way! I've started to put together some bases for Blucher.

No I use the non "regular" shakos for the french

These look great! Question, how would 2mm models like these turn out if I scaled them up 150% to 3mm to print? I ask because I have some 1:600 Ironclads and Gunboats I'd like to roughly scale match with some ACW troop models.

may I ask what blue you are using? and any chance doing some figures that would work for Austrians ?

Yes I plan to do Austrians this year. I think it's a V Prussian blue on white primer

What about the problem that the figures seem to set on top of relatively large stilts? Can one cut those off?

Yes those are supports used in the printing process. I use them to create a "stick" while painting them but cut them off with an exacto before baseing them.
