I don't understand why you wouldn't call yourself an artist! You definitely are! This is absolutely adorable. Severine looks so darling in her pretty dress, and Monty is a dapper little man! My suggestion for the toy box, being that you are an artist, is to paint cathedrals all around it. Whatever you do, it will be wonderful. 🖤

Wow, the final project turned out amazing. I would cover that in varnish and protectants and keep it in the family. Imagine 75 years later a skeliton horse is dug out of the attic again for the newest family member!

Drawing skeletons is hard, simplifying the design to something cohesive is harder. And you did it! I love this project. I'm trying to gear up to paint flowers on a nightstand, so this is a good accompaniment. Monty & Sev cameos are always a delight. I'm glad they enjoyed it.

For the toybox, you could paint it black and have the front be a ouija board. Has all the letters and numbers on it, so it can be doubly educational

That would be fun! I wonder if there was a way to make it interactive to teach words. Like, a magnet on the inside, a magnetic planchard and you spell out "Woof" for example and ask the kid to spell the animal that makes that sound (D-O-G).

THAT'S INSANE! Honestly! It was worth all the effort you out into it and it turned out perfect. Love both of your children's reactions they're adorable. Plus it has more sentimental value than buying one. They can now grow up saying their mummy painted that for them!

For the toy box a coffin might be cool especially if it's full of "unalive" toys. If you enjoy crafting and painting have you ever thought about maybe when the kids are older and in school possibly doing it as a side business? You're pretty good at it and have really creative ideas!

I would make the outside of the toy box look like a monster, and when you open the lid, you see the inside of the mouth/teeth and with the lid is closed you just see fangs and maybe the eyes painted on? The rocking horse is absolutely divine!!

That riding horse turned out exceptional! You did a phenomenal job! I am an elder Goth and my children are grown. I only wish I had this level of creativity for when they were littles. Seeing the skelly brought up a funny memory I had with my daughter. We were out shopping and I found an adorable shirt that had a skull with pigtails on it. I proclaimed "oh look, this is so cute!" She promptly replied "Mom, skulls are not cute". Pffft, it's ok though because her daughter loves all things goth and we have so much fun with it.

I just found your videos--this being the first one I've watched. You say in the video, apologetically, that you're not an artist. I'm a professional artist...and I beg to differ. You sketch-out and inpaint those horse bones with finesse. Great conversion of a forlorn old toy into something both cute and magnificent.

Love love love your creepy horse! Maybe paint the toybox with chalk paint, paint your skulls, bone animals around the edge in acrylic ,maybe the kids star signs then let them chalk their own pick that can be wiped off each time. For ever changing art work.. you certainly rocked that rocking horse!!

Your very artsy. For the toy box maybe put black bats & other gothic stencils . A haunted house or tree. Keep the horse as a decorative piece after the kids get big. It's a keeper.

With the toy box, you can pick up some wooden appliques to glue on the corners, or even the center of the box, then paint the whole thing black. I've done this before and the technique looks very gothic baroque.

I'm obsessed! And for the plain white toy box, I would paint it like a grey stone mausoleum you can attach crown molding for more detail or just paint it on. "Here lies boredom" or "memento mori" or you favorite childhood gothy quote on the front

The white chest you could paint black and glue on lace and little soft goth things to make it the toys "resting place"! My mom made my toy box the toys "bed" because it really helped me put them away and interact with the box like another toy!

You proved that you don't need expensive materials to make good art, just skill and dedication. Beautiful. As for the white toy box, have you considered doing a Victorian-era winged skull and foliage gravestone symbol on it? I think it would look lovely. No need to repaint the toy box as I think the image would look stunning in black on the white box (plus it's less work) vs white on black.

Concerning the white box, I would paint it to look like an ossuary. Stacks of skulls would look cool, similar to the ones featured in your older videos.

For the toy box I’d want to do a more weathered gothic style of shabby chic look to the toy box. But then again I love the aesthetic of Shabby Chic. 🤪 But I *NEED* that adorable kitty skeleton stuffy in the toy box! 😍 That rocking horse came out beautifully! You definitely are a talented artist! 🖤

The rocking horse is so cool Decoupage Toy box or Spookify Bats, Teddy bear skeleton, bugs etc, The nightmare b4 Christmas, frankenweenie , corpses bride, Tim Burton vibes, Addams family, Alice in wonderland or Victorian toys painted on Dolls, old Teddy bears, spinning tops, little goth soldiers, jack n the box, magic motion, wooden cup and ball, pull along toys, trains, tea set, yoyo, carousel, abacus etc🦇🏴☠️☠️🕷️🐜🦟🪲🪳🐍🐀🦗🐌🕸️

If I had that toy box, I'd make a dark rainbow on it with a deep burgundy, burnt orange, yellow ochre, etc. Still dark but a bit colorful too!

The toy chest could be so fun as a treasure chest. antiquey, a little bit steampunk. Add some 3-D details like leather straps or iron corner reinforcements, keyhole and escutcheon plate, etc. (use craft foamie sheets painted)

Turn the back of the toy chest into a tombstone and paint the box bit like dirt and grass so when the kiddos put their toys away, they're tossing them into a grave :3

For that box I think it would be really cool if you found some vintage type handles to glue on the sides and you could find a Victorian style wallpaper online to print off and make a stencil out of and spray paint the pattern onto it. Painting tricks I've picked up as someone who is also no artist! haha

I think with the toy box it should remain white except for the top painted black with the black dripping down making it look like it is overflowing with darkness or something.

Omg the horse looks so cute!! For the toy box, you could go the decoden route and use caulking with gems and other bits and bobs to give the appearance of fake sweets. Obviously once it has completely set it should be safe for children, just as long as you don't put on gems small enough that could fall off and be swallowed. The silhouette could also be reminiscent of rococo too

I think you should have some extra wooden decals and some Victorian looking legs and maybe use that sticky wallpaper for a design and make it black and gold

I personally think you should paint the toybox, black and put like little skeleton decorations, all around it and on the inside like a velvet type of fabric, you know what I mean make sure it’s aligned with pul underneath of the velvet it will help keep the box waterproof, but it will make a really cute toy box. We did something similar with my kids, and they love their toybox.

I have a rocking horse my grandfather made me. If it didn't have such sentiment built in, absolutely! As for the toy box I would decoupage to give it texture and then do either ouija board or a map from a fancy series

For the toy box you could put a ouija board motif on it and if you have a strong enough magnet set you could put a planchette magnet on the outside so it can look cool but also be useful to teach letters, words, even addition
