Hi Louise, just wanted to sayI loved this video! So helpful and it really hits home because I have recently painted a very red dahlia so you have taught me to keep going with red in layers to get the right tone. Also I have separately painted some gum leaves and a dried banksia cone which had some interesting shadows which I painted too dark. In addition I tried painting the shadow at the same time as the leaves. By doing it after the object is finished makes it clearer to get the correct shape 💃 I am going to try again! Thank you

Louise~ I love your work and your tutorials so much! I haven't started painting just yet - I'm waiting for some materials to arrive. Meanwhile, I have been watching sooo many of your videos, here and on SkillShare. I have always wanted to learn painting, and I am so excited! In pottery, there are stains and washes that can be used for surface decoration in a similar way to watercolor - so this will be a way to develop a new skill that will cross over into my pottery. Anyway, I appreciate your time and efforts! 💜
