While I absolutely adore the 1 hour one, the 10 minute one makes me realize something super important = You always have time to paint. I think it's easy to get discouraged from starting art on a busy day, but heck, if you can do that in 10 minutes... Who wouldn't feel better after accomplishing that after a rough day. Absolute worst case you learn something and get even faster or better for your next speedpaint :D

Both are beautiful, but I like the 10 min one better. It captures the essence of watercolor paint. It’s bright, soft, like it was slightly washed away, delicate, vibrant and elegant. The texture is great, and it’s just captivating. It looks like something you would do on a whim, to express a strong feeling, or a memory. The other one is more like a portrait, something accurate and realistic that you would do to show a picture of something.

I love the soft tones of the 10 minute one. The one thing I like better about the one hour one is the hair! It's so beautiful.

This was interesting to see. A technique often used for flowers and hair that can also be for some other things is leaving whitespaces where you normally would have hard edges. It gives and interesting look. (She used a bit of this technique in the 2nd one.)

The music really added to the urgency..I’ve never commented on the editing of an art video before but I think it really helped drive in the point of focusing on what’s important visually when given a short time frame. This is the first video of yours I’ve ever watched and I love your style and your explanations! They’re oh so helpful!

Both are beautiful! I just finished a really tough 40+ hour painting today, so now I want to try this exercise to see if I can speed up and let go of my perfectionism a bit :) thanks for the inspiration!

I kind of prefer the 10mins one, I live lightly colors and this painting kinda seems more mysterious somehow

Thank you. I know I have to practice watercolor to learn and get a feel for it, but it really helped me to see your approach and the way you can push the medium. Both exercises were great.

I think it is important for art to be intuitive and just do it without thinking too much! THAT WHY PEOPLE LOVE THE 10min one!!! Haha of course 1 hr one is very good but we can FEEL ARTS. the freedom that is expressed from the 10mins one is very attractive i think!

They are both beautiful ..it shows also that if you have got a few minutes to spare you can do a great painting or just get your main paint layers down..looking at this I think I am over thinking and adding way too much paint hmmm..Thanks for the inspiration 😀

But i think they both look really good....! Yes, the 1hr drawing has more details, but i think the 10min one has more spirit in it At the end, creativity leads to ART

Finally had time to watch it! ^^ WoW! To be honest, I love both of them for the exact same reasons you mention in the video. The differences I mean. I also agree with those who say the first captures the delicacy and childishness of the reference.

This is actually a great idea for times where you aren’t comfortable yet with the color palette, you can paint a little 10 minute thumbnail before making the official artwork and you also get chances to experiment more :D

I wanna see you do this challenge except you have to draw out the under-sketch then paint it. You could do a 10 hour - 1 hour - 10 minutes - 1 minute challenge... I dunno. That would be fun.

would you be able to answer this about your Patreon - on the 5 dollar patreon one gets 2 of the 25 minute painting tutorials a month. Are these usually watercolor or oil ?
