Thank you! I so need to work on improving my cloudscapes. Down here in Florida we have some of the best cloud formations. Guess I need to organize my sky photos into a reference library for future artwork. Thank you again for all the time and effort you put into your videos.

You got that right! I live in Wesley Chapel on the water. The sunsets are absolutely amazing, and I'm always snapping pictures, saying I'm going to paint this. Had a most beautiful lavernder-ish sunrise this morning I thought would have looked beautiful with the palm tress out front. Have to do that from memory as it disappeared almost as fast as I saw it. Ohio has some incredible cloud formations as well.

Oh yes, I've seen many beautiful clouds in Tampa. It must be due to the proximity to the oceans because I've not seen anything like since I grew up in Atlantic City, NJ.

I am starting to learn watercolor. I am at step 1 really and I decided to start by practising painting skies every day for a whole month. I wanted to say a huge thank you for listing the paint colors you use, in the description section of this video. I am heading to the art store today and having a clear outline of what colors to use for this video tutorial is so appreciated! Thank you! I can't wait to get started!

Great cloudscape, thanks for sharing the techniques you used. I went on a cloud bender a few months ago and soon realised for me it was a good idea to have a hair dryer plugged in and ready to go so I don’t try and keep going when I should be letting it dry. As you said the paper has a tendency to build up moisture and it can be really uneven which would get me into trouble quickly. Thanks for showing the “fail” which I’m sure can be rescued with some work. These types of skies are not easy but the results can be very rewarding when you get them right.

Hi Steve, needless to say, I always enjoy your videos and have learned a great deal from them. One thing I really liked in this video is that you showed us a "fail" you had. Sometimes I get into thinking that I have to get it right on the first try. Your "fail" reminded me that it´s OK to have these "fails" and you just chalk it up to experience and try again. Thx much,

This video comes at the perfect time for me. I've tried a few skies recently, with limited success when it comes to deepening the dark areas behind the highlighted edges and creating depth in the shadows. The main takeaway for me in this video is allowing the paper to thoroughly dry between the applications of the darker areas. Love the blending of edges you demonstrated. Thanks for a great demo.

That turned out amazing! An idea to make the clouds pop from the sky more may be to make the cloud shadows a slightly different colour than the sky. That said, I'm thinking you don't have any sky in this huh? It's just straight cloud. Regardless, nothing different _needs_ to be done, I just thought it may be interesting to play around with
