I have been OBSESSED with Helldivers 2 for the past 2 weeks and I decided to 3D Print up a squad of 4, including a purple haired girl to represent me, and got to work painting!

What is your favorite armor in Helldivers 2 to run with?

I like the standard protection armor that lets you carry 6 grenades, But I've been playing with big artillery and 500kg bombs recently and the servo assisted throwing is very useful for not having to go to close to large nests or Bot camps. I've also been playing with the padded heavy suit that gives you 200 protection and makes you look like an extra from Hurt Locker

Nice video. Love the minis! Depends on the situation for me: -Terminids - Light or Medium. Prefer throwing range and limb health OR stealth depending on the mission. -Automatons - Medium or Heavy Armor. Prefer throwing range, explosion resistance or limb health.

Light Medic armor for sure. Until they give me a reason to sacrifice speed for armor, I'm addicted to the mobility and the 4 seconds of healing per stim is nuts! 😁🤘

Made a tabletop game already, been using cardboard cutouts for the 4 guys and some more for the swarms of bugs/ robitz. It’s all D20 random charts as to the main mission, secondary’s, and the enemy movement. A lot of small factors come in to play but are otherwise just set dressings. Now knowing that these are free…. Ima need 2 sets…

Been loving the game, it's fun, brutal and funny and has absolutely amazing weapons and enemies to use them on. Still waiting for the Illuminate to finally make their long awaited appearance and give everyone even more PTSD (as if Malevelon Creek hasn't done that already). As for a board game, I've been thinking how to bring them into a miniatures game and they have more than enough to make a good 40K army (with a lot of tweaks) and still be amazing. Plus Super Earth does have a second army, S.E.A.F. (Super Earth Armed Forces), which are the more conventional military arm to the Helldivers fast and brutal guerrilla style warfare, both of which would be like the IoM, with the SEAF being a more traditional Imperial Guard analogue and the Helldivers being a Space Marine analogue (sort of).

For washing those little parts, a stainless steel mesh tea infuser ball works great. Put the parts in, clip it shut and drop it in the washer. They are only a few bucks

That was pretty uncovered armor for a Helldiver ! Take care of poisonous spits x) Nice figs ! Hope you will do other print like the exosuit that is give to us right now, or the unpcoming vehicles that was disclose ^^ I love especially the code for the stratagem on the base !!! you mentioned Starship Trooper & Warhammer 40K but forgot one huge inspiration too: HALO !! Drop pods; Pellican; Suits looking ODST etc... Nice Board Game collection too btw ! First time to watching you, that was pretty nice ! Hope i'll have a library looking that in the future :D

Great minis and a really good paintjob. The slapchop style base coat is something I've started playing with lately and yours works incredibly on these models. I like the idea of starting from a dark blue-grey rather than black, so thats one I'm stealing for my next paint project. Honestly, I don't love the eyes - but I never paint eyes on 25mm scale figs unless its something oversized like an ogryn. To me they never look right. Certainly all mine look better if I just wash them with a darker version of whatever I'm shading the flesh with.

I think it’s totally valid when doing slap chop to use colors that will compliment or further enhance the color pallet of your project. Why restrict yourself to a grey scale base when you can play with other colors!

What did you use for that yellow? The only way ive been able to get a yellow that smooth and bright is vie 5-6 layers on a white basecoat lol

One Trick for removing scaffolding I thought I'd share is to run the mini under WARM (not hot, made that mistake once) water first, really softens it up and let's the supports zipper off. Maybe you do that already since the sink is right there, just wasn't pictured.

My concern is rinsing this resin down the sink. I'm not using water washable resin.

I have an old paint mixing pail that i fill up with warm water and toss them in. I have a three part washing process tho so by time they hit the water every bit of liquid resin is off of them. Just to be on the safe side tho I put that water in clear cups and blast it in the curing chamber (sometimes with minis submerged for a water cure if I’m in a hurry) and then just filter that water through a micromesh paint strainer. It’s well worth all the extra work imo, it makes support removal a dream on a dialed in printer. They just fall off the supports with minimal effort.

Very beautiful results. The purple hair was a great contrast and nice touch. What type of brushes did you use on these? I have been having trouble finding a nice set of brushes for small detail work that holds a proper amount of paint and has the fine detail tip. Thank you for any help you can send my way..... There are some free rules our there called DoomDivers its solo vs AI or teams vs AI or team vs team. You can also be the bugs vs divers be it people or ai :-)

Have you considered just printing clear bases? That way, the models fit in with any terrain. This is my preferred method for “basing” minis.

I just got sent some clear resin to try but I hadn’t considered it for bases. But then again I really enjoy painting a tufting bases, I feel it brings the model to life more so I don’t know if I would ever consider that.

@@HobbyNight40K rules don't seem to have the right feel. I might convert Infinity rules to work. It's a squad level sci-fi game with enough detail in the rules to cover the basic weaponry of Helldivers 2. Add a random scenario generator to it with the Helldivers feel and I think you'd have a good game. Want to chat up Corvus Belli and ask for a Helldivers mod? They might like it enough to create a line of minis. 😁

So down for a HD2 board game, it has so many ways to approach the mechanics and the objective missions and attempts to sneak or crushing your friends haha. I would much rather grow up a kid with a copy of the Helldivers 2 board game than the monopoly board game. At least one of them is in on the joke.

I'm just tryna enjoy the painting. I get why you do it, but honestly at least have some clean cut sections of the painting as your hands moving on the screen, outfit is contrastive, and how your overlay taking up half the screen is a bit much.
