OK, so this comment will probably echo something already said before, But still I just wanted to say thank you for the EavyArchive! I painted my first figure in over 20 years, and the last time I tried warhammer was with a group of friends, KNOW ONE knew english, how to paint, how to play, This was before the helpful internet, so coming back to a hobby, learning the lore and seeing how easy it is to paint with FANTASTIC resources as yours, I just want to say THANK YOU, great "ambassadorial" work, and giving me access to a forgotten hobby. It's a really cool thing to see this done the box art way. Way beyond anything I'd do on anything that isn't a character, but I do have that Deathwing Assault set on pre-order. So, I'm taking notes here to give Belial the best paint job I can muster. It's insane how smooth the glazes turned out. That is a technique I really need to get some more practice in. It gives the model so much more visual interest.

Your jungle bases gave me an idea for rocky coastal bases (like the galapagos), I've started making moulds for them that I can fill with transparent resin and I top them off with rocks so they're water with rocky bases. It's a bit weird to explain but seeing that much effort in the jungle base made me go through with it.

Excellent ! So cool to finally see the full tutorial ! One thing I'd love to see more, is an explanation of how/why each colors are selected, like what makes a "good" color scheme ! Even after years of painting, I feel that creating a colour scheme or a color recipe is still daunting !

The time consuming parts are probably my favourite hobby moments, it feels really slow and like you aren't getting anywhere, but once you are done, the results are (usually 😅) amazing! Painting 'eavey style is still a scary thought for me though 😂

Do you think you could do a video on painting different types of skin tones? like darker and lighter ork skin tones. Kinda more of a color theory video on what to think about when highlighting different tones of the same color. Love your videos man. Your guides are a cut above the rest. The closeups and the way you show almost everything has definitely helped me grow as an artist. constantly showing the palette definitely helps too. Keep up the great work!

It's not often I watch painting videos from start to finish without skipping parts.....Outstanding work, thank you very much for making, by far, the best video on painting this colour of armour I've seen in a while. Looks time consuming though, but by the looks of things it pays off. Saved. Would ask, how does this method of painting work on Dreads and tanks, I mean guessing it's exactly the same but do you think the main colour and shading would stand out more at the "tide" lines if you know what I mean?

Citadel also do a wraithbone spray. Might be a bit easier to brush the Screaming Skull over this 👍

Ushabti's tone changed recently. He is less yellownish and more than the skeleton legion from two thin coat.

Yeah Citadel paints keep changing a little bit, very frustrating when trying to match!

@@InfernalBrush Yep but generaly the recent changes of Citadel's range tend towards more uniformity, better coverage and better consistency so I think it's for the best. Moreover Ushabti was perhaps a little to yellowish... Since the release of the Two Thin Coats range, I have noticed that certain colors have been greatly improved. Abadon black, Eshin Grey and The Fang for example is now perfectly fine. However Dave, there is still a long way for Citadel to go to reach the balanced matt finish and the great coverage of the Duncan range which is truly exceptional ! :)

I love your videos. Your highlighting is really clean and I enjoy being able to see the process. I have a question though. I also use a W&N series 7 size 00 for edge highlighting. I often end up with a tiny little spec of dried paint at the end of the brush. I've tried thinning the paint down a bit more, leaving it a tad thicker, and rinsing the brush and grabbing fresh paint more often, but I still seem to end up with that little clump after only a stroke or two. Any suggestions or tips on how to prevent that from happening? I'm pretty new to the hobby.

Personal experience, don’t get a cheap AB, spend the money on a good one and you’ll not be sad. I personally suggest a Badger Patriot 105, it’s a hell of a workhorse.

Cheap air brush. Agree with that. Undercoats and base coat 100's of Nighthaunt and Stormcast in short amount of time. Some days, cleaning it seems to take longer than the use of it.

Is it possible to apply this technique to white scars with a grey/off white glaze? I've never seen anyone do that so I'm curious if it's because there's not enough contrast with the white highlights or something like that.

How do you glue them together with the paint in the joints?

I just scratch the paint off a little with a scalpel and use regular plastic glue, never had an issue. You can always mask the joint with some bluetac/tape instead.

Which air brush did you use? And is it gravity assisted or do you use a compressor?

Any airbrush will do the job fine for basecoating. I have a harder and steenbeck infinity and yes its gravity fed with a compressor

Why do my models never look at smooth as better pajnt jobs im seeing? Is that a paint consistency thing? Is it cheaper brushes? My paintjobs even after several thin coats, just never look as clean. Same direct painting? Injust need some one on one instruction. Im a quite good artist. So i just assumed that I would be good at miniature painting. But im as average as the next guy, but only in miniature painting discipline.
