Acrylic painting shouldn't be thought of as difficult or laborsome. In this demonstration on painting on canvas, I wanted to share a couple tips that might help you with your acrylic paintings. I also wanted to take a moment to thank everybody for their kind comments and for viewing my channel. So here is a video where I share my slow dry matte medium mixture with you. I am just an artist like you, stumbling through each painting and figuring out what works and what doesn't along the way. Go ahead and give this stuff a try, If you find it works, great!

@@Silver-nn5ey My best advice for least money. A bottle of diluted glazing medium or airbrush extender/medium will help you blend colors easier and longer. Using a spray bottle sparingly, you can keep the paint wet on the canvas and on the palette.

You are my favorite acrylic painter by far, I can't believe this is acrylic. I've been a professional tattooer for over 20 years, I also have a custom guitar shop and sculpt monsters but I've never painted with acrylic or oil, for some reason it just never inspired me until I found your KZfaq channel. After I finish a few sculpting and guitar projects I'm currently working on I'm going to try my hand at acrylic. Thank you for the inspiration, you are freaking amazing.

Being an artist myself, I think it's the artists duty to teach what we know to the young budding artist so they can blossom into another great artist or even better than us late on in life... I truly love all your paintings, which they are jampacked with so much realism mixed with fantasy and vibrant colors that catch your eye all over the painting... I'm more of a chalk pastel kind of guy, but I have played with acrylic paint on canvas a few times, and thank you for the tips in blending colors...

Each artist must develop his own proprietary techniques and take them with him to his grave. Divulging the secrets, as Greg Simkins, esq. has done here, is a serious breech of artistic ethics.

A few years ago he moved with his family to Aukland New Zealand and opened Takapuna Art Supplies www.tasart.co.nz . I was invited out there to teach a seminar but due to work and family obligations, I was unable to go. They host art classes and seminars with some of the finest artists from my scene and around. You should look them up. Also, check out New Zealand artist Andre Tischler. Back than I was still using Prisma on Bristol but, soon switched to spit shading flash, this year how ever I took the plunge and made my first order with Nova color and, as a beginner when it comes to acrylic I can not thank you enough for this video, please more like this.. Anything that shows more of your techniques ( so I can bite them of course ) . You have been my favorite artist for 20 plus years now and, even my web site name ( im so awkward ) was inspired by your web site Im scared. If it wasn't for you / Sam Keith there would be no me... Thanx for all you do my dude... I have had to retire early from tattooing do to arthritis and, carpel tunnel so, if I cant make this transition it's back to being a laborer for me, so every bit helps... I really appreciate you for this one...

This is awesome......Thanks I did some paintings in oil (my very first oil painting was a commission of a 2 person potrait in color, sold for a small amount of $250) and found that the smell was to much for me. I've since been sticking with acrylics now. I love this new knowledge about the slowing down the drying time, this is great news. I've been kinda stuck for a few years and working on pulling my ass out of the slumps, dust myself off and get painting again. Been in like a blocked mind just trying to get started again. Watching great painters like you helps a lot.

I started acrylics in the 70's, & they were opaque. One coat done! Liquitex. Then they got transparent. I'm not doing twice the work, done with acrylic. Enamals cover great, but the fumes i can't take anymore, especially if I use airbrush. So now I'm doing oil. Sit & wait to dry. Add dryer & hope glazing doesn't bead up. If a really good quality opaque acrylic is out there, I just may go back to it. I like the speed.

Thank you for the tutorial. I watch all your videos. I would love regular tutorials or just regular speed vids. Even if just a portion of a painting. Keep em coming
