Thanks for watching! It's all in the anchor points - brace your wrists to the edge of the table, fingers against the model, against the other hand, etc. The more points of contact, the more sturdy you'll be!

Very cool effect with a simple technic ! Does it work with an airbrush ? Mainly for the base color of the skin. I'm thinking about doing this for a beastmen army with two tones of skin.
@MattsHobbyHour
@MattsHobbyHour 4 ай бұрын
I would not recommend an airbrush. Contrast/Xpress color paints really depend on using a brush to control where the paint pools, and where it doesn't. An airbrush is too consistent and makes a layer that's too even. Airbrushes are great for flat colors and space marines, but I wouldn't use them for contrast paints.

@mimoteph6378 4 ай бұрын
@@MattsHobbyHour thank you for your answer ! And another question, any reason you don't start by priming in black then grey on the sides then white from the top ? I'm thinking about doing this to increase the contrast. Do you have any advice on this ?
@MattsHobbyHour
@MattsHobbyHour 4 ай бұрын
@@mimoteph6378 you can absolutely start your zenithal prime with black, it's up to your personal taste. It will increase the contrast. Personally, I dont like starting with black, I think it makes the models look too dark. Starting with black also means you will have to spray more white on the models, and the primer coat will end up thicker and obscure detail. I've had better results using grey/white instead. And if I want dark shadows, it's really easy to just add them wherever I want them.

Can the metal sprue-things rust inside the bottles?
@MattsHobbyHour
@MattsHobbyHour 7 ай бұрын
it depends on what kind of metal. I haven't had any rust (in the case of GW pewter). I would avoid using steel ball bearings. Glass beads would probably be the best choice.
@Maeggoel
@Maeggoel 7 ай бұрын
@@MattsHobbyHour I use the Army Painter balls. But I have just heard a lot of people being very afraid of all things metal and swear to glass beads.
@MattsHobbyHour
@MattsHobbyHour 7 ай бұрын
@@Maeggoel it's definitely great to be aware of. I have used pewter sprue pieces for around 20 years and haven't had any problems with them. Before that I used some steel bb's, which rusted and ruined my paint. Lesson learned!
