It's -31C here today (Alberta, Canada) and this tutorial has brought such warmth and a breath of spring I think I can make it through the cold snap! Love your work and always inspired by your style and lovely way of teaching. Looking forward to having a go at painting roses.

I learned that you can use basic caulking to make the paint last longer and give it extra texture.

I don’t have a pallet knife but I found a knife kinda like one in my kitchen and my mom said she was never going to use it so I used it to make a stormy ocean painting. Thanks for all the great tips.

Katie, thanks. I the future, I wonder if we can have a tutorial about how to draw a person or water. Well I've seen some ocean landscapes but for example a glass of water or a base of glass would be really helpful for me and others who are starting to paint. Katie I am fan of your painting skills . BT this painting blew me off .... From start to finish it was so stressful . I saw things coming together then falling apart and it was on repeat 😂 Palette knife paintings are very stressful for me . Love to work with those knives. I barely use any brush... Only for like... Tiny tiny details. Brushes kind of stress me out for some reason 😅

Hoo boy do I regret doing this on an 18x24 canvas. Trying to get that thick texture across the whole canvas is really difficult while limiting how much paint I use! would've been better off dripping a whole bunch on the canvas and spreading it around lol What do you do when you mess up but the paint has dried? Do you just scrape it off and start over?
