Күн бұрынDIY on painting your Rsx headliner Black. I also included instructions in the previous video on how to Remove Headliner pieces. I noticed most people use 3M adhesive and glue on some fabric. Just giving everyone a second option which is cost effective and easy. ENJOY !

Because they charge extra for black interior, standard is often gray or similar.

Finished my interior painting, the headliner and all parts turned out fantastic. I was amazed how well that paint matches the OEM panels. I am very pleased how it turned out. Thanks for the tut video on how to do this. PS.. i didn't know about the rear clips on the headliner, had to re-glue one back on, one of the tabs just wouldn't come off, but i ended up fixing it.

yea i didnt bother inspecting the piece to see if it could be removed or not. over spray on my interior was my main concern. 👍

5luggin I just did it in my type s and I wouldn’t say claustrophobic it’s more of a comfy feeling. Camaros would make you feel claustrophobic but you have plenty of space in the RSX interior

Not yet , I still have to finish gutting the front end , and remove everything else in the way. I want to make sure there isn’t other spots with rust 😑

The smell is too strong, I guess my nose is too sensitive to the paint. Took it off and get OEM part. I can't get rid of the smell 😭

Oh no man . lol did you let it dry outside the car for a few days. I let mine sit for a few weeks . and I don’t smell anything

Thanks for the dome light wire routing... got to get me some of the dem slippers... lol Looking forward to watching you trying to install all this shit back in the car, that's the only part that has me worried, I can take shit apart like a MFer, it's remembering how it goes back together.. lol

Your welcome. That was going to be too much work trading it back to some fuse box . Take pictures or video. If you feel you won’t remember . Putting it back together will be the easy part 👌

@@Deemossi I got my paint today from the same place as you did.. 2 blocks away. This weekend suppose to be beautiful, 70 degrees, i'll get some shit done... question, how long will it take for the headliner and other painted parts to totally dry ?

Honestly I don’t know . I havnt put any of my pieces back , i won’t be reinstalling them for a while . just make sure to clean all your plastic pieces with wax and grease remover .

@@Deemossi Yeah the mirror plastic piece i forgot to clean, and it looked like shit right when the 1st coat started. I stopped and took it in the house and cleaned it up, 2nd try went much better... them little pieces are easy to forget. OH.. and wiring the new foot well LED's in was pretty easy once i found where i needed to connect the wires.

I've read in the club rsx forums of guys using the same brand paint but in gloss black instead of flat. Wonder if the gloss black would give it a deeper/darker look.

Not sure but I know the a pillars and trim pieces are not suppose to look gloss. so it’s the reason I hit everything with a flat black

My headliner is starting to sag/peel in front of the visors. Also the fabric on the sunroof shade is toast! I was thinking of just peeling off the rest of the fabric and painting the shell. Is that a stupid idea? I figured there’s something I’m just not thinking about because I haven’t found anyone who’s done it that way.

Great vid bro, I'm thinking of doing this to my 07 eclipse but my interior is so in tact that I'm thinking of just spraying the headliner and 4 pillars without taking anything apart and just taping everything off, do you think it could be done?

Can try it , I think it’s possible. You will probably need a really good mask , like a painting booth mask and with goggles . And definitely cover anything you don’t want paint on . Even the seats .

They reupohlstered the whole headliner though and painted the pillars and mirrors and all the plastics black to match

Ariaz it’s been a year , no fades and it feels fine. I let it dry for a week and then installed it back in. I honestly never touch my headliner , so it’s longevity won’t be an issue

it felt normal when I did mine . You need to really clean your vinyl parts , prep work is really important. your plastic parts have armor all and all these chemicals from when u clean your car. You always have to degrease them and before you paint. U have to use wax and grease removal . prep is key for it to come out perfect

Joaquin Benzema Im not sure how well that will work on full interior pieces . Might be better off finding a junked rsx and taking the black pieces , you can find base model rsx everywhere

Nope, I let them sit and dry for a few weeks, while I worked on my car. I’m sure one day is not enough time to fully dry. Give it a week.

Zero smell , no fading , no issues at all . It’s been months . After I painted it. did not re install it for a few weeks. that probably helped a lot

Yes it smells for about 7 days so leave outside on open air then install.

Actually yes it does I just did my Kia soul and the smell stays for about a week and its strong I used 5 cans i think headliner is longer. I will upload video next week and I will explain all points
