Thank you for joining me on another episode of Learn.Paint.Fail.Repeat. In Part 2 of this series I tackle the 'Whispy Bitz" TM, portions of the new Black Coach from Games Workshop. This channel is the main reason and inspiration for me to get back to painting miniatures. I haven't done that in ages, but I managed to recover a good 90% of my old citadel colors, apart from some metallics, and I am going to buy a box of skitarii in the next weeks :)

That's awesome to hear! Welcome back to miniature painting, I hope I can continue to provide some good tips and motivation! Even better you were able to save your paints! When I came back I was able to save some Boltgun Metal...that was it lol

@@eBayMiniatureRescues I was really surprised, some of that paints are ten years old! Of course they were used in the meanwhile, but not more recently than 2-3 years. The sealing power of those old citadel paint jars is quite surprising!

Just wow…I’m usually not the biggest fan of that green for the Nighthaunt pieces (usually paint them with Nighthaunt gloom/incubi darkness blue tones like on the box) but you did it with such a gentle touch and beautiful blending I love it. Also great job having an overall color “theme”, with these more complicated pieces, I see a lot of saturated colors, each fighting over the attention of the viewer, trying to be the focus, and ending up looking like a chaotic rainbow when you look at it as a whole…but the use of the metallic black along with those subtle grime and rust and perfect gradients…just wow man. I’m buying this piece soon, once I’m done with Lady Olynder and will definitely be taking some pointers from your videos. THANK YOU AND NEVER STOP CREATING

Looks really good! The only thing I could point out is possibly consider going back over the lantern's grate after spraying on the bright colors to really make them pop. Great job!

You seem to be a very nice man, because you do all those works for the ppl. Are you? (lol) I really enjoy the way you do the tutorials. Slow and easy. No aggressive screams and so. You know what I mean. I am on the way to paint the Black Coach now. I already painted the coach, took me four or fife hours until now. Now I have to paint the ghosts and the horses. I am very glad you are enjoying the videos :) to answer your question, id like to think that I’m a nice person, I do try and be as genuine and transparent as possible when it comes to making videos. This hobby has given me so much in the last few years and the goal has been to give back whatever I can to the people who have been so supportive. Now, some of the projects are commission pieces, so I did get paid for painting them, but I can guarantee I charged less than most people to do so. Most of all, I want everyone to realize that we are all in different places and skill levels, we can grow and learn together, and that the hobby in general, bringing us together, and letting us enjoy good company and fun, is really what it’s all about. I hope that answers your question, have fun painting that black coach, I know I did :) Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you as well.

Pretty heavy speckling coming out of that airbrush. Thinner paint and going via gray definitely helps.

Fantastic job. Is there an option to use glow in the dark paint elements on a model like this for display? Have you ever tried it?

I've seen some painters use fluorescent paint so it glows under a black light, it looks pretty cool for anything in the nighthaunt range. I want to say I've seen glow in the dark paint used in the same way, either way, it would be awesome to see :)

@@eBayMiniatureRescues yeah, it worked (probably too well). i got arrested for child negligence again. It seems they got into another barrel of gunpowder and demolished 2 houses while the local petting zoo caught fire. They should release me for good behavior in another 4-5 years tops. 🙂

I'm pretty excited to start really using them. I have a pretty cheap set of oils from the ol' college art days, might be time to invest in some nice stuff and make some sweet sweet videos on them :)
