I found you channel a couple of days ago ... love it!! (Subscribed) The Weber Q series BBQ's are great, first I bought a Baby Q, I liked it so much, I got rid of my old big 6 burner gas BBQ and bought the big Weber Family Q. I use mine on a regular basis but have a little of a different approach ... or rather ending, I remove my grills after each use, soak them in hot water, clean them and the BBQ's( and yes, when all the kids come over I sometimes use both of them!) Here in New Zealand we can still purchase the heat deflectors for indirect cooking and the trivets(the grills). Rather than use the disposable heat deflectors, I made my own reusable deflectors for both BBQ's from aluminium oven baking plates. I use spray on oven cleaner which works wonderful on the grids and the insides. After seeing how hard yours have worked so far, I am sure mine will last for years!! I think yours deserves a good clean .... easier now that you have a place in the country, would have been an impossible task on the fire escape !! Keep on grillen !!

That was funny that you HAD TO clarify it was a hose. I say this because as soon as you said to rinse it off with a hose, I thought "he is in an apartment with a fire escape, where the hell does he get a hose from and why would he have a hose?" Good video. I am waiting on the hurricane to decide where it is going (I am in NC) before I degrease my Q and repaint the lid. It came the gloss black you mentioned from HD. I always wanted an International Orange lid, so I will be painting mine with VHT high temp engine paint. The bruschetta chicken came out great by the way.

Happy to hear your logic about changing the color. I really liked the green. And I probably shouldn't mention this but here goes.
