This is one of the best ships I’ve seen you make, I learned so much just from this last video alone. You’re one of the best modellers out there. The music was wonderful too, I couldn’t believe it when I heard Daredevil play, it was great watching you paint while it was playing. Then suddenly I hear the opening of Liberation of Gracemeria and the video becomes even more epic!

Two minor details: 16" and 5" gun barrels tops were painted in deck blue (usually with a wavy edge that is an absolute pain in 1/700). Other detail is that the turrets ought "point" where their gun director is pointing. An outstanding build.

No, barrels were not painted in Deck Blue, they were painted in haze grey. www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/OnlineLibrary/photos/images/k06000/k06565.jpg cdn.britannica.com/73/133873-050-B1EB958E/USS-Missouri.jpg Aligning the turrets and the fire control is what they normally do, not mandatory. You're like my hero with all that tiny masking tape pieces! I thought that masking the RAM panel on my 1/72 f-35 was awful! Great job mate ;)

Excellent work my friend. That is coming from someone who used to do this sort of thing for a living. If you cut thin strips of masking tape, you can follow quite complex contours with the one strip, then use larger and fewer pieces around that. Saves time.

I've seen other ship modelers using the tiny masking technique, but only ship modelers. It seems so tedious, but it also seems to get the job done. I may have to try it out on the next ship I make.

This ship was the 2nd, and best, of my 4 ships I was assigned to during my 10 years in the Navy. Granted, I was on the newer circa 1991 version, but, the name remains the same. You did her justice. If you ever do the modern version, please be sure to add the damage done by the kamikaze to the starboard fantail area. :)

as always you are a monster with Way more patience for any 2 people to have.. So, what about creating a 'what if ship', like a Plan Z ship? that sounds like it's right yup your alley since you like to make most of your model parts yourself :)

Extremely beautiful build! Especially the weathering looks very good, subtle and not too much. I completely lost it when you painted the signal flags, I have never seen such a level of skill. How is your Tirpitz doing?

Wish I could figure out how you're getting that deck blue. I just can't seem to get the right mix ratio and haven't found a premade paint for it (the mission models one seems a little light). Phenomenal job, though!

I have more than 3 years old ship and her lycra strings are still holding well. And it is very easy to fix if some of them fell off.

Thank you for the comment! I used IPP's HS08 Navy Blue and HS04 Deck Blue. GSI's SC14 and SC10 can be used, too.

Hello, I have a few questions, before you do the salt and wet effects, that super clear (12:44) is flat? or if it's not flat, then how do you make that matt effect, and that gloss varnish for water effects is enamel? Thank you By the way it's nice and very inspirative building 😘😉

It is Semi Gloss again. So both gloss and flat varnish are noticeable. And yes, I used enamel varnish for the water effects. Thank you for the comment!

Have you sealed final weathering techniques like drybrushing with flat varnish? I'm a newcomer in ship modelling and don't know the full procedure.

Sometimes I coat the weathering, sometimes I don't. I didn't coat the drybrushing this time. I normally coat the weathering when I have to do weathering on the surface where already weathering is applied.
