I have a glue gun with a gold glue stick and never thought of cutting it to feed my clear stick. So cleaver! As usual your work is inspiring and chocked full of wonderfully useful information ❤️❤️

I watch your videos all the time. I enjoy doing dimensional mixed media paintings as well, however I paint faces. I am always inspired by your work and say that I want to try to do a piece similar to something you’ve made, however my use of the glue gun has been a disaster. You make using a glue gun seem so easy. Perhaps at some point I will be successful at using the glue gun and make something that I can be proud of. Until then I’ll just keep watching you do your thing. Great work!

This is so awesome. Wow. Looks like the woods behind my house at night after a snowstorm. ❤❤❤ how this came out. Have an old glue gun with cord that I’ve had for almost 50 years. But just got a cordless so I’m ready to try this. Might need more colored glue sticks but truly love this idea. 🥰

I giggled watching you cut the stick. I’ve let my gun warm up just a bit then I can pull the stick out. Safer for me as my hands and sharp objects don’t get along well lol. I’m sorry I missed the live I’m in the midst of a project that, isn’t going as planned. A hair dryer works well to resoften the glue. This piece is my favorite this year lol. But I love the depth you got and all the wonderful techniques i.e. trees, snow etc.

I've done this type of art years ago. Never peeled it off & then glued it to another place, though. I've painted over the glue. I used toilet paper rolls & bent them, glue them & painted over the glue to make the 'knuckles' on bamboo.

you could use cosmetic sponge applicators for highlights - almost like finger tips and lots of sizes and shapes - or modify them as needed

My first textured painting was a llama. I had gesso, but didn’t think to use it. Instead I mixed dry wall spackling with PVA glue, and titanium white paint. The two, textured paintings of llamas turned out great! I was so surprised because I’ve never done anything like that before, and I am an amateur.

I have a tip for you as far as using the glue you can put wax paper or parchment paper over the glue and slightly touch it with the hope this will help

I’ve never thought of using a glue gun in a painting! 🖼️ Imagine the possibilities! I’m an artist too. An ocean and marine life artist. I wonder how I could make coral 🪸 with a glue gun? Or a dolphin 🐬 or sea turtle 🐢. My one problem-I work with oils and I don’t believe the oil paint sticks to the glue??? Thanks for sharing your art ideas. Just lovely!
