I keep calling it an ice cream scoop, but its an ICE scoop LOL!!! Sorry!
After the experiment i did on the smaller canvas I am ready for the larger canvas. I have an ice scoop that I filled with layers of paint. I took a tooth pick and made a design and then poured it out. I love the simplicity of it. I was really going for a minimal negative space pour! I am loving this acrylic pouring, fluid art fun. There is something so satisfying about pouring the paint onto the canvas and watching what develops.

Acrylic pouring has been such an avenue for my mental heath and i am so glad that i can continue to share my journey through modern and contemporary and abstract art with you! Fluid art is so relaxing for me and I love the outcome of this [pour! I see a bird!
Colors: pthalo green, metallic gold, pthalo blue, paynes grey, white
White base: satin interior latex house paint and semi gloss house paint (70/30) (then mixed 50% paint, 30% floetrol, 10% gac800 10% gloss medium and varnish (one product) and water for consistency.
PM for the rest of my colors: floetrol, gloss medium and varnish (1 product), gac800 (50/30/20) ratio, Mixed in a 1pt paint, 2 parts PM plus water for consistency.

Hi Molly: I'm a professional artist and really enjoy your work. You have a lot of talent and creativity. The ice scoop technique has a lot of potential because you can control the flow. Instead of just drawing a wavy line, consider doing complex shapes like Chinese characters or graffiti symbols. Plz do a REALLY BIG canvas, 24 x 36. Just let yourself go and throw caution to the wind. Combine different techniques. Colander pour + reverse dip + ice scoop, all on a single canvas. GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND DO SOMETHING REALLY WILD AND CRAZY !!! Good luck... :-)

Thank you! I do large work, if you check back on my channel, I do 48x48 and 36x36 quite often. My last wave was 24x36. I love large canvas work. I am definately going to continue to experiment with the ice cream scoop!

I did my best little painting today inspired by the ocean colors 😊 I did a cup flip with a drop of silicone and then pulled a chain on the lower half adding a pink, yellow and another green and it came out so nice ☺ I would love to see you do something like this 😁 It looks like it's underwater.

Thanks! I used to do oil land scapes. I do resin art, and spray paint art. I have painted my whole life really, but never for anyone besides myself. I have been doing fluid art almost 2 years

Love this, the colours are so rich. The only thing I think I'd like better is if the paint didn't fade at the end there. How would you do it so all the colour was consistent? Less white?

maybe less white towards the edges and more color there. its touch when it gets stretched out and there is already a base coat.

There is this discount store called ROSS and they mostly do clothing, BUT!!!, I found that they have an Art department. They sell packages stretched canvases like the 9 x 12s and 12x12s and 12 x 16 and 18 x 24s each size comes in a package of 4s for $8.99. They also sell 48 packs of 2.75 ozs, of Acrylic paint for $20. I have been using them and they work pretty good. The brand name is Parellii. But if you are watching Molly, I have been attempting some of her pours with this paint and like I said it works pretty well. Anyway if you have a Ross in your area check it out. Oh and Molly that Ice scoop looks fun I am gonna have to give that a try also.

First time I've seen your work. Very nice! What brand/kind of gold paint do you use? Mine seems to sink/not show up in my pours. I have done small & huge (48x60) pours. Thank you for your input.

What does varnish mixed with a pouring medium and floetrol do?

So pouring medium is an all encompassing work for different things that make the paint fluid. Floetrol can be a pouring medium, gac800 can be a pouring medium, liqutex makes their own pouring medium. Gloss medium and varnish is one product that adds a shine to my paint and makes it dry smooth and nice.
